Saw a Shadow 2 at my local gun shop last week, as soon as I picked it up, it spoke to me in a way no pistol ever has (save perhaps for an FN Hi-Power). All that weight in the all steel construction makes it feel *substantial* in a way few other guns do.
YES !!! Love CZ weapons. Your exactly right, they are a delight to shoot. I own a CZ Shadow 2 and CZ 75 PO-1 . When I started shooing the CZ P-01 , I knew I hit a new standard of firearm. Then I got the Shadow 2. Can you say heaven 👍😁.
My first CZ was a Shadow 2 black and blue. Then I picked up the CZ P01 Omega. Just got an SP01. Mama put me on notice. No more CZ's for a WHILE! I'll give it a year, then I'll have to consider a P07 or a P10C? They are just so darn fun to shoot!!
Great review KS! Thanks for the shout out too. The front sight was originally red, but I have a red color perception deficiency and can see green much easier, so I changed it. I'm not sure what the original recoil spring's weight was, but I think it was either 14 or maybe 16 lbs. I put an 11 lb recoil spring in it and it smoothed out the pistol without changing any of the other springs. Loved the review. As always, better than most.
Thank you for the amazing opportunity SPPG! It was an honor to shoot. Truly top of the heap, no doubt about it. You’ve created a beast! Cheers as always brother!
Usually, when I hear the standard tactiCOOL metal guitar intro, I turn the video off; but, I love this gun so much I soldiered through it. Thanks for the review.
Excellent over the top review. I noticed that you always leave positive comments in support of other YT reviewers. Very noble on your part. In doing so, you have earned my respect. I just subscribed.
KSGunGuy, two important positive items that your viewers should be aware of. No fire pin block on the Shadow 2, plus it comes with a stainless steel guide rod as opposed to other CZ models that are fitted with a plastic guide rod.
! purchased my Shadow 2 yesterday (1/18) on Gun Broker for $1069,99 + $35 shipping. As with yours, it also came with black aluminum grips. I really wanted the authentic blue grip panels, but impossible to find on all of the web sites. Out of stock, out of stock! But I finally found a set on eBay that were up for auction from the Czech Republic. I ended up wining the grips for $136. Steep, but worth it. In for a dime, in for a dollar.
Bought my first hand gun last week and it was a full size p10 and I love it. Out of the many hand guns I've shot I feel like it fits really well in my hand. The trigger is very nice. I've had 0 problems and I've easily put 500 rounds through it just over the weekend camping. They said it was a used gun but it looks like it was never shot once. Came with 2 19 round mags and that's just a little bonus compared to how good my cz is.
I have the first gen sp01 shadow. Changed recoil spring to 11#, hammer spring to 11# and added an extended firing pin. Then sold my 2011. This old dog learned a new trick.
I love CZ's and this one moves to the top of guns I want in 2018. I may sell or trade a couple of guns to get this, but I need this CZ. Great review and great gun.
The CZ shadow 2 is the only “other” gun I wish I could obtain. A real beauty. That said, I did just receive, in time for Christmas, a CZ Rami. A wonderful sub compact. (I’ve got a P09 too.) CZ is without a doubt my favorite gun maker.
I own 1.. and have owned dozens of pistols. The Shadow2 is amazing. Worth every penny. That being said, it is heavy. And as such, is not for people who don't want heavy.
Just got my Shadow 2. It’s awesome. And only $299! My wife couldn’t believe what a great deal I got. I told her honey, it’s a Czech gun so that’s why they’re so cheap. Ohhhhhhh😉😜
I have a Black & Blue Shadow2 & it is my go to fire arm for my 25 yd drill, I can see why Honest Outlaw shoots it at 50 & 100 yds. I am just jealous where I am only 25 yd indoor lanes are available but is worth ever penny I paid for it.
Went from a XDM to a .357 Blackhawk to a 1911, and finally figured out I love Single-Actions and All-Metal Handguns. Ever since my 1911, I've been looking for the right 9mm and I found it in the Shadow 2. It's an absolute dream and I don't tire of shooting it.
I'm new to the game. My first gun is a CZ P07 and two weeks later I got my CZ Shadow 2 with the blue grips. I have the best life. In February I get my Bren 2. I'm a Fan.
Great review on a great gun. Just starting to get into CZ myself my uncle got an orange and he loves it. We all do lol. I’m actually looking at purchasing my first cz I think I’ve settled on the accu shadow 2. But I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them
A buddy of mine has a shadow 2, and it makes even me look like a good shooter. In his hands it just makes one ragged hole at 10 yards. Awesome gun. Hope to get one some day. For now my p07 will have to do
I bought a shadow 2 as my first ever gun. Finally took it to the range today for the first time. I love shooting the gun though I admit I dont have much to compare it to as a new gun owner.
I'am competition shooting and My opinion is that it's not many guns that is as good as shadow 2 out of the box, and espesially not in that price range!👍 Put a Cajun trigger kit in your shadow and you have a Hell of a nice Gun for years! 🤘
LOL, you'd have to stop buying ARs, rifles and cut back on the relatively expensive ammo they use (relative to pistol ammo). That would be like giving up fun in order to have fun. The only answer is for you to win that lottery! :D
Ah, the review I have been waiting for. I love the S2...it is currently my "one gun to rule them all"! 2018 is off to a good start...looking forward to future content.
I have CCW’ed this gun for over a year now. Easily the best shooting gun I own. Actually prefer it to my TSO and the SiG legion SAO. Keep up the good videos!
Yes, I carry concealed in a red hill tactical IWB holster in condition one. I also carry two spare magazines loaded with 124gr +p speer gold dot. The gun is heavy, but still weights less than my duty belt making it a none issue for me. The gun is reliable and is very easy to shoot quickly and accurately. It definitely feels like your cheating when you shoot it.....which is exactly the characteristic I want in my fighting handgun.
Awesome review...! It looked so smooth running when you were shooting it. I love my CZ's and 'need' (lol) to add the Shadow 2 to that collection but they are as rare as hens teeth from my distributors right now so I'm gonna have to keep waiting and just watch more videos like yours until I strike it lucky and get one of my own... Thanks for another great video!
Almost bought one of these when they first came out and still want one, but I was on a mission to get the cz p01 compact first. Finally got that out of the way so this one has been added to my short list. Great gun, great video.
@@KSGunGuy01 I hope to have mine by the end of the week (black with blue grips). It's paid for, but now I gotta wait for the background check to clear, and then it'll be mailed to me. Can't. Wait.
These heavy guns wear most people out fast and offer no advantage except durability and less "felt" recoil for range shooters. These weight as much as a N frame Smith.Such a superb gun for me.
The S2 specifically offers far more advantages than just durability and less recoil. The s2 is far more accurate than most guns, especially from 25 yards out. My 5 shot grouping at 25 yards is just as small as from 10 yards. At 40 to 50 yards I can confidently hit 10 inch round plates in succession without missing. And that’s all that matters, confidence in your pistol and marksmanship. As the presenter in the video said, he feels like a pro shooting the Shadow 2. Every person who has tried my S2 has shot better with it than their own guns. As for “less felt recoil”, with the proper grip and tension, you can take 3 to 5 quick shots with the S2 and have almost zero recoil. I have videos to prove it. Lol. I got rid of my Glock 17 and 19 in favor of the S2. I edc my S2 concealed iwb. It can be done depending on your body frame. Looking at the PDP now to see if it can give me the same accuracy and confidence as the S2 with less weight.
@@princevalencia8816 hmm, defensive encounters never require a competition or gun capable of 2cinch groups at 25 yds,but no reason not to carry it,sometimes I pack a all steel 226,no problem......
Of course you realize that we can see you drooling whenever you do a CZ tabletop, right. ;) On the other hand, each CZ model has it's own personality, and they're good ones. Therefore, many different CZ reviews is better than many different Glock reviews.
Two things kept me from buying one at Frontier Justice last week... No de-cocker and not much meat to that safety. The SP-01 was damn tempting though...
Recently got new s2 sa. Love it.Can believe the accuracy and quality.Only dislike safety is too easy to flip on and off. Might as well not be on gun. Will be calling CZ to see if they can stiffen it up. Otherwise great gun.
KSGunGuy - spot on review! Shot this baby and wow... I own a CZ SP-01 Shadow Target Custom (CZ Custom Shop) and the Shadow 2 out of the box was quite nice! Not quite custom shop, but wow, close. After a $59 investment in Cajun Gun Works parts, it's pretty much on par with my custom shop pistol! Great detail in your review, and yes, built like a tank! I'd say built like an Abrams Tank :)
Thank you very much David! It really is an incredible shooter for sure. I want to look into the spring kit for mine. I've heard it's about all you need to make them top of the line shooters. Thank you for watching and cheers!
I have stock 2,3 and limited custom..I said to myself to stick to it,until I held one shadow 2 and shoot w/ it and now I found myself buying 2 shadow 2.these gun are way better than my Tanfo.although they look similar ergonomic and it shoot almost the same. but,the fit &finish is gorgeous for the shadow2.unlike the tanfo.there’s a lot of rough and sharp edges especially on the trigger guard.and one more thing,shadow2 trigger is much better than the tanfo.when it comes to stock trigger.
I used to shoot a lot of IPSC and on my stock guns I always had bomars which required milling of the slide to set them low enough. Thanks for the video..
Got one. Maybe it needs to be broken in but rackin that slide isn't anything like butter unless you are switching those Springs out. Not even close to glass. It's a little tank and you have to overcome 20-plus pounds of resistance. To actually engage that slide stop to open the rack you need both hands. I will find a workaround and I bet it gets better. I'm not talking about this video but elsewhere ycmou racking the slide with two fingers I'm telling you this isn't real they've got these guns rigged out.
I think reviewers are gagga over the CZ2 because everyone’s used to the lighter polymer guns and IMO they’re all junk in comparison. Solid build and heft matters.
Although designed for ankle carry, I think it could pocket carry pretty easily. Perhaps one in each pocket to balance things out! Thank you and cheers as always brother!
I picked up a Shadow 2 a couple months ago. I just picked up a TSO on Thursday and spent Friday at Centerfire for almost 400 rds. KS, you need to stop doing reviews on these pistols. They make me look like a WAYYYY better shooter than I am, and I don't want anyone else knowing lol
A few years later ( your 320 vs Shadow 2) you still haven't read the Owner's Manual to know that you can switc over the mag release to the right side. Please start reading the Owner's Manuals before you hit Record - so you can speak with authority.
Weird, the fiber optic is red on mine. I'd prefer green, as they're usually a little brighter. I love the shadow 2 I just bought, I kind of want to get another one. It's my kind of gun. Yeah it's too heavy to carry edc, but would still make a great home defense weapon after adding a light to the rail. It's a tac driver though. I'm gonna sell several of my other pistols now, the Shadow has ruined them for me. lol
Is the difference in price between a shadow and shadow 2 worth it? Obviously there are differences that CZ made over the original but are they worth difference in price?
what kind of competition did you used to shoot? I shoot USPSA and really want to get a Shadow 2. Big CZ fan. Don't need it for sure but its high on my want list.
It was a hybrid IDPA style league. Indoor so we could do things like low light. Tons of fun. The Shadow really is a beast and I recommend it. Thank you Rotor!
well if you could live with it not being drop safe as it doesnt have any drop safety features ... but hey there are guys that CCW Desert Eagles or big ass revolvers so i think it is capable of being CCW or open carry handgun, just not EDC one
Get a good holster and belt, and you can carry anything (almost). I carry, at times, my P226 even in the summer and wearing shorts and t-shirts. I carry IWB in the 4 o’clock position, and there isn’t a problem.
I have the P226 Tacops and I love it. For a nightstand/carry gun I think the P226 Legion and Tacops are set up better. I love the guns, love the triggers. If I was shooting competition, I would definitely get the Shadow 2. Hands down. The 226 Legion SAO sorta splits the difference between them. Competition and duty ready.
I have experience (limited) with the p226 legion Sao and I carry a shadow 2. My coworker carries the Legion. Both are excellent guns and are very well suited to whatever role the average buyer decides to use them for. Aka range toy/showing it off.
Never will tire of CZs. #CZWorldOrder 🤓 Weight is an overrated qualm. In this case that weight is purposeful. What a beauty. Heck. Part of my workout routine is drawing and bringing to stabile hold two 15 lb. dumbbells 3 sets of 16 reps to strengthen those muscles for control. Great review. How do you like the trigger shape? Is there any room for improvement if a flat trigger was available? Man do I want that gun!
Thanks InSight! I agree about the weight being purposeful. Well said! As for the trigger, I think it’s fantastic and really doesn’t need to be flatter. Cheers brother!
