D´Addario NYXL bass strings review - the better roundwounds? 

I've been an NYXL fan since I discovered them a few years ago. The extra lower/mid content and slightly tamed highs work for me. It came through on your excellent video. Nice one Michael.

Totally agree with your review, I have these on an MIJ Fender Jazz and they’re great, I really like how they sound when they’re dead too. These and HiBeams are my favourite strings for jazz basses.

Mate, great video. To the point, great A/B. I have a set of 50-105 XL's on my Sandberg VM4 which I love, just wish they were a bit "sweeter" sounding with a little less stiffness, these might be the go. Love from Australia.

Sehr guter Test! Ich habe lange auch die XL gespielt, bin dann aber über die sehr empfehlenswerten „balanced tension“ zu Galli strings (RSB) gekommen: absoluter Hammer! Fühlen sich ähnlich an, haben aber weniger von den penetranten Höhen und unglaublich Druck. Dazu noch fairer Preis (wenngleich etwas schwierig zu bekommen). Absolute Empfehlung!

NYXL cool strings, juicy sound and quite tenacious.

Danke für diesen Test. Ich bin noch auf der Suche nach den optimalen Saiten für meinen Marcus Miller (Sire) V7. Momentan spiele ich Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys, die mir aber zu rauh sind. Ich bestelle mir die NYXL und freue mich auf das Ergebnis.

I'm sold. Too bad they don't make a set in the gauges that I use (45-135)

NYXL are the only D'Addario set I ever mounted on my basses

Hi Michael, first of all great review! Would you say the may fit a heavy handed person in regard of the tension? I like low tension strings but i have Elephant hands and prefer something with a little more tension

NYXL seems to have a warmer sound, do you agree with me ?

I once bought a set of NYXLs and the E string went dead very quickly. Maybe a defective set. I replaced them with Thomastik Powerbass strings and never looked back.

They don't come in my gauge: 40,60,80,100.

nyxl mad the others sound like weak rubber bands
