I’ve seen many people use the cable or rope method and never seen anybody create the channels for it except maybe across the top. Then they pull down from the top with two people (like you are) and the entire sheet will break off in one large piece and come off. I’ve even seen them hook the cable or rope to a snowmobile or a four wheeler and slowly use that to pull the rope making it even easier. Any way you do it though, it’s easier than snow shoveling off the whole roof!
@@pptest1423 Yes, I’ve seen videos of this method made in Scandinavia and Alaska. The snow was very deep, but I don’t know if it was packed or not. The reason I’ve mentioned it, is that I’ve seen a number of videos using this method, but never having to dig out side channels.

Reste que si on pelte à partir du toit, la neige sera aussi sur le coté du chalet. C'est donc le même résultat pour beaucoup moins d'effort. Dans notre cas, on a juste brisé les gros morceaux pour dégager les fenêtres. :)
The goal was simply to remove the weight of the snow from the roof so it won't collapse. The snow will melt when springtime comes. This isn't a house, it's a rustic cabin in the woods that we use in warmer weather.
Well ... no hurricanes, and no bombs. Four seasons, no mosquitoes in winter, and a few warm summer months (hopefully) to play in the lake. Life is good :)
