Another song from Black Medium Current. Probably the song that most people have heard from this album, it's the first track after all.
A wonderful song drenched in melancholy and longing for a distant time.
This song does have an easter egg in its title. "Et Smelter" doesn't mean anything in Norwegian or English. Can you solve the riddle?

It does have the same minor chord 3/4 structure, so it makes sense to associate it with Moonlight sonata!

Magnificent cover, my man ! I literally lost my shit when I saw you in Denain a few weeks ago, DHG is my favorite band along with Voivod and you definitely lived up to expectations. A few years ago, Vicotnik talked about a 666 International tour in a french interview, do you have any info on that take ?

Thank you! Denain was really cool, such a nice venue and nice people! Had a great time. 666 int tour sounds very cool indeed. It's hard to say for sure when that would happen, since right now Black Medium Current is the main showcasing so to speak. There are also a few promoters who want to have a full old school Kronet til Konge set as well. So there's a few things potentially cooking, but I believe Black Medium Current will be prioritized for a while now. Hope that makes sense! :)

Well, sometimes a random coinscidence is just more than that :) It always puzzled me why the two best (in my opinion) Black Metal composers (Czral and Vicotnic) are originated from the same band, is it just a coincidence? :) Checked your last MESSIER 16 release btw and it is has some absolutely top notch riffs. Great atypical BM stuff. Hope to see you with DHG somewhere in Europe in the next couple of years. Hails from Russia!

@@Knovelaer Even though I'm fairly late to the scene compared to Vic and Czral, since I'm about 15 years younger, I think being a part of their kind of circle is influential to a lot of people - they seem very interested in adventuring in foreign sounds and expressions in music. Which is one of many things I admire them for! I think that creates their unique sound, for sure. It's a mindset thing for me, at least. I think a lot of BM bands sound very similar, and builds upon the classic tropes with corpse paint and antitheist themes - I personally think those elements are quite outdated, uncreative and just not interesting in the contemporary scene. And thanks for checking out Messier 16 man! :) Really appreciate it. Hope to be able to play in Russia at some point, for sure! на здоровье!

I will eventually do a playthrough of all the songs I learn, at least! So far, the only song I don't know on Black Medium Current is "It Does Not Follow". It's just a matter of having time to record and edit videos, not to mention playing a perfect take. Not all the songs are easy, but most of them on Black Medium Current are definitely easier than anything on A Umbra Omega, haha.

i know i'll probably never hear it live, or on any recording other than the below, but do you think it would be possible to figure out how to play this dodheimsgard song? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0EAnsmd_bQ8.html i asked yusaf about it ages ago and i believe theres possibly a demo recording of it that is unreleased. but i cant find anything but this video and i love it so much.

Well, nothing's impossible. I learnt most of the songs I know so far by ear, and would possibly be able to gather the most crucial elements from that recording alone. Although details will always fall through the cracks - especially when two guitars play simultaneously. That's not the case here. If I get some free time, I might investigate this one. I've got some other songs to record videos of first though. The plan is to eventually make video playthroughs of the whole discography, actually. Long term project. But honestly, apart from 4-5 songs, most of it isn't too difficult to learn by ear. Mainly the albums with the most buzzing guitar sounds like 666 and Satanic Art are the tough ones to identify.

Det kan la seg gjøre. Disc 2 på Supervillain er jo ikke materiale som kommer til å bli særlig brukt live fremover, men det burde være relativt greit å plukke fra plata. Kan gi det et forsøk når jeg får litt dødtid.

It's relatively new merch, Costin Chioreanu's designs. You'll be able to get those shirts on shows only for now, no online distribution. Since I play live guitar in DHG, I got one. :) Hope that answers it! Cheers
