The story is about Gahyeon vs JiU foe the maknae position. Gahyeon is trying to make JiU realise that she's the real maknae, and thus JiU turns everyone into dolls at the end. xD Anyway, jokes apart, this MV is about doppelgangers (reference to the movie US). Gahyeon is the only one who realises what's going on and tries to fight JiU (who turns people into dolls whoever visits her hotel/amusement park), but it seems that JiU catches her in the end and turns her into one of her dolls too.

Well, well, well. Hi there! Dreamcatcher are outdoing themselves here once again. Musically, the song is a fantastic journey. There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's adlibs is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done. About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. One commenter noted that if you look at "BE" as a written Chinese character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". So the song title would mean "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to maybe mean "the cause of sadness is I like you". That commenter is Jad Hamizan and he deserves all the credit for noticing that. The video picks up on that. JiU seems to be the puppet master here (or her doppelganger!). She is the one trapping the other members and turning them into puppets, but Gahyeon tries to escape (as you can see by her throwing off the cage right in the beginning). It seems JiU catches her again though, "because she likes her". The lyrics are even creepier. SuA sings: "Your expression is blue, blue. Your face is like ocean view.", hinting at strangulation due to the one being obsessed taking things way, way too far. Dreamcatcher are clearly not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects, and they do it masterfully here - again. For me, this is more than just pop, it is art.

So yeah a few of you have given me the rundown on the plot and the connection to Us and omg it’s made every MV viewing since super creepy! I never saw Us (I’m a baby when it comes to horror) but I read the Wiki 😅 and omggg the references throughout the MV are so damn creepy! I can't count _how_ many times I've listened to the song and re-watched the MV since it dropped, and I'm discovering more fun elements almost _every time!_ Some of the other guys have explained the main plot, so _that_ saves me some typing. But I have a gut feeling that there's even more going on than I've seen anyone suggest. Obviously the main plot is between JiU, and Gahyeon, who she's currently ensnaring to add to her doll collection... but I suspect that SuA, Siyeon, Dongie, Yoo and Dami aren't _just_ a supporting cast for the maknaes, and that somewhere in this video, each of them has her own sub-plot for us to discover... 🔍🤔🔬 6:30 I do believe that'd the original Dongie being dragged away while her "replacement" watches... There's a behind-the scenes clip from the other side of the curtain where they do the dragging, and it looked like Dongie really enjoyed it... 😂 7:30 The "Forever love" in both choruses is Siyeon, but the "Forever mine" is Dongie in the first chorus, and SuA in the second. 8:00 I think you've hit the nail on the head; that may be a hint as to how SuA was captured... or maybe it's telling us something else I'm too stupid to figure out... 😜 8:20 I've seen it suggested that Siyeon might well have been the girl who JiU caught last. I'm thinking the electric chair setup (I'm pretty sure that's what that is) was her "display podium", and now she's moving aside for JiU's newest toy, Gahyeon... How's that therapy going, by the way? Hahaha too true! If Somnies can handle our screech Queens, they’ll have no trouble with me. I’d just rather not surprise people like I did for all you old school subs 😂 Therapy is going well, but I’m in a deeper hole than I was before the surgery.. 😞 my general form was so off following surgery that I injured my ankle so now I’m having to heal the ankle and then the knee which didn’t heal properly because my form was so off to begin with. The pandemic cut me off from any therapists for nearly a year as all the clinics were only taking covid patients, during which time my dumb ass didn’t do my body any favors as I waddled about life with crap form 😑 Any directional bends of my left knee results in a lot of pain still.. Docs are thinking maaaybe by January orrr worst case is I never dance again.. I’m hopeful though!
