I love the entire album, but this song & "The Charade" are my two absolute favorites.

The production on this album is what music students will study in the future.

I'm so glad this album exists.

This song right here, is ethereal to my ears and my soul. It had been such a long time, since I had heard a song that really touched my soul in such a manner, that I actually shed a tear. With such haunting lyrics, we gotta ask ourselves - why we are fed crap daily, when real musicians like D'angelo have to be conditioned to fit a mold, when in reality, they should let artists like this be free. Where do we come from? Where do we belong? Beautifully said, in times of darkness when brothers and sisters are still being discriminated and killed innocently. Thanks D'angelo for making the album, my 90s generation so needed! We are lost sometimes, but you've started a revolution.

I had my doubts about the quality of music D'Angelo would drop after such a long break but I was wrong this is an amazing body of work from start to finish. Please don't make us wait so long next time!!!!

This is 2014's "what's going on" but it almost comes off as more relevant and timely while transcending any trends within musical genres. Heard this album for the first time today and I'm absolutely blown away. The intricate production is seriously next level stuff. This album will age beautifully without a doubt. The grooves feel eternal.

This is a song that will come to symbolize the struggle of our generation, generations into the future!

After careful consideration, this is my favorite from the album. Granted, there were a good five different tracks in consideration for 'best,' album is that killer. It's so contemplative, in the chords, sound, groove, vocals, makes me feel that D'angelo would have gone on his whole life without releasing music, but the tragedy in the news, the struggle, pushed his hand, made him feel like he had to make and release music as a part of something bigger than him. In the end, it wasn't selfishness that convinced him to release music, it was his desire to be a part of the struggle again.
