D'Angelo and The Vanguard - Prayer (Audio) 

When I first skimmed through Black Messiah I wasn't sure what to think. But after giving it a full listen through a few minutes ago, I've come to a conclusion: D'Angelo is 3 for 3 with a trio of CLASSICS! And I can already tell that this is going to be one of those very rare albums, like Voodoo, which just becomes better and more appreciated with the passing of time. Love this nigga.

The filter used on D voice gives an incredible crispy-industrial texture, then the offtime rhythm of the drunken style drumming that Questlove (suspect him to be involved) THAT Ahmir actually puts on time, Church bell sounds like the song was cut in a confessional booth ! Boy that's art now !

One of my favorites from Black Messiah. This is a gospel song really. I don't know if I am hearing this correctly but I can hear church bell type of sound in the background. 0:35 0:47 1:00 ..

This record is so complex yet the message is so simple and it's also a shame how easy it id to always distinguish this track from the entirety of the album which speaks for itself. It's an anthem that shouldnt have been so necessarily forced or even conjured into the public atmosphere or consumer marketplace. Its also an anthem that only stands the test of time due to the fact that injustice is still the good news of the morning, afternoon, and evening. Primetime television and rhe entire consumer marketplace still feeds off trauma and suffering and every other injustice. You have to pray but you also. We also have to work to make it a reality. The world is great. People are great. Simply asking them to be great again or try their best is not reminding anyone of why they were once capable of greatness. Leaders need to learn how to lead by example. D'Angelo can organize the event and set a beat for the marching band and even be the master of ceremonies if need be. He's a gifted and skilled human being who knows the work that is required to at least strive for greatness if not perfection. D'Angelo is also an artist who got into the business of art and commerce. It's not his job or duty to constantly ask us to get it together or draw a roadmap on how to simply. Just be a decent person. Follow the Golden rule. Look at yourself in the mirror each morning and everyday before you walk out the house and tell yourself that the world can be a great place, maybe even better, but you have to play your part. For example: idk what I'm doing so now I feel bad yelling. Have a blessed day and thanks. Hopefully no one reads this. If you are, thank you. Its great seeing people connect to and with this record. It's such an incredible album so for a record to stand out (with no offense to any of the other tracks) is always worth a moment of appreciation when I dont want to yell and complain about how miseravle and unrealistic my perspective of everyone and everything including life as we know it truly is
