Dilla had a way of taking other people's tracks (even the great D'angelo's!), flipping them and then saying "that's dope, but isn't this what you were really trying to achieve?" and serving them with a remix that completely changes the mood of the original and makes it better. He hears shit that was never there in the first place.
I remember picking this record up, by pure chance, for about three quid. Wasn't really paying attention at the time and grabbed it for the Woohah Remix....Nearly collapsed when I heard this....One of the straight up, most beautiful, sexy as fuck tunes of all time! J Dilla, you were always on point, but on the day you made this, you must have been taking the piss out of everyone else. This is what a tune sounds like when you fucking nail it! Hiphop and soul in perfect unity....I have had a drink, but I'd still stand by what I say in the cold light of day. Riddim!!!!!
