@@MacStopHatingstop being a casual, he’s not the worst. I don’t think people understand that defense is team effort. It’s really hard to keep guards in front of you nowadays. Plus it’s an offense driven league now, just gotta score more than your opponent. And actually some of the late game struggles against Denver was offensively.
@@-_Bee He has the work ethic, but is not quick, nor can't jump by NBA Standards. he has done very good considering that. Can't have Reaves and DLO starting. But, Dlo's and Reaves numbers are pretty good. Not easy to replace.
This is a dumb take. Trading for a solid player is much easier than picking them up in free agency right now with the cap. Teams absolutely could be more interested in trading for russell vs paying him in free agency
There are a lot of NBA players that aren't great defensively. D-Lo gets a lot of heat because he often seems indifferent to his performance on that end. His demeanor. At least Reeves and Rui look like they're at least bothered as their getting torched defensively.
Its not just that Dlo is not great defensively its the combo of him and Austin. If you dad say Danny Green from a few years ago or a Trevor Ariza like 10 years ago playing beside Dlo then no problem. But the Lakers don't have that.
Welcome back DLO! I want this to work out he had a great season for us and broke records I think he will improve under JJ Redick but as well I really want a two-way guard.
Did you people not see the lakers get swept 2 years straight reaves and dlo must go they can not guard nun od the backcourt in the west they are getting torched thats weee we need to start trea young cant guard but at least he will torch other backcourt players consistently unlike dlo and reaves
Translation: his agent told him any interested team would only offer a one-year deal at less than $18.7 million. Suddenly, DLo wants to play for Redick. The Lakers could and should move him to a contender in the East for a first (likely a very low first) in 2025 which is expected to be a deep draft class or for a decent Center as part of a bigger package. Otherwise, they're stuck with an inconsistent point who shrinks in the playoffs.
@@gringoboy701 We also lower his usage in the playoffs too. That contributes to helping the other team take him out of the game. I would love to see what it looked like if we just let him run the offense...we haven't seen that yet...
@@HOOPLA_TVwe lower his usage because he will start games shooting 20-30 percent and then is a cone on defense. If he would have become an efficient movement shooter and defense his value would actually be up. Now he will prob just get an MLE next season.
It's so simple. Stop trying to start Dlo and Austin together. Get a 2 that's 3&D to start and run Austin off the bench with Max at 2 guard and get another big. The problem is Dlo and Reaves need to buy in and not complain over mins and who's starting.
DLO structured a deal last year to be in conrol this year, 3D Chess. The front office probably promised him security if JJ helps him. Defense was the team's issue last year anyway. Get a center and get out of the Playin. Bronny is a No-Factor in the G League.
They aren’t going to trade D’Angelo Russell unless they can get a major deal but best believe they are definitely going to trade him before the trade deadline because the Lakers need help, they cannot come back with the same team and at this point all they got is a draft pick they gotta make a move
Trade Dlo and then we need a 3 point shooter; Trade Vando and then we need defense; Trade Rui and then we need an athletic forward…we are the only fan base that thinks we can just trade for everyone every other week 😂😂😂
I just don't see a path to being true contenders after that DJ trade. You'd have to stack up a ton of salaries to get Trae or Lavine and even then the roster still isn't complete. Lauri is great next to AD but he's not a positive defender and Lebron shouldn't be playing the 3 every night at this stage in his career. Jerami Grant would be a solid 3rd option but we'd still need an athletic 2 way player next to Reaves. Tough decisions for the front office to make and they're going to have to move fast
Yall so ready to get rid of a 19 ppg pg for what we are not getting anyone better he’s top 10 PG in the league we need better wing players a big and change of pace backup pg that’s it
@@Nurmi860 If the Hawks wanted Reaves why didn't Laker Front office make it happen to get Dejounte.Dlo came to Lakers at the trade deadline a few years ago and actually made a difference
You guys sound pretty sleepy! But yeah, the roster is indeed cluttered and some players definitely have to be moved. At minimum, Hachimura, Vincent and Vando.
@LARULES100 You're wrong. He would opt out to get more money cause now the Lakers wouldn't have a choice to overpay him since DJM went to the pelicans. The Lakers would be stuck if he opted out. Yall need to think smh

Quigley at 17 pts a game and no All-star and no conference appearances gets 5 yrs 175 million. But DLO gets 18 million per with no long term contract. DLO has an allstar appearance and a ROY with playoff appearances. Disrespect on DLO is REALLY unfair.
Vando has that Dawg in him. He is critical to this team imo. We need a high energy wing who brings it every night. Vando elevates the teams efforts when he's on the floor.
I DEFENDED DLO all last season and he awarded me with shit so I’m done defending him…at some point in the playoffs it’s not Darvin ham that’s getting those open 3s that DLO could make and he can’t blame nobody for his defense but himself in the playoffs…Season DLO is great but playoff Dlo is not worth a damn 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
I’m so glad Dlo opt in and hope he stays. What really are u going to get in the market that’s better or a realistically upgrade over Dlo. Ppl really acting like Dlo wasn’t the 3rd best player and relying on Reaves and even Sexton to pick up the slack and that would be asking for failure at its finest
We ain’t going anywhere with D Lo as our starting PG bro he has to be traded. Look at every single season he’s been with us and all of his playoff games he’s just not that guy don’t lie to yourself. It’s good he opted in but only so he can be traded
That's why you guys can't win the title, because you can't keep the team together for a long time. You can't trade your third-best player. Trade the pieces that don't work last season. keep DLO
These guys are crazy saying they would be ok with Reeves playing point guard he has no handles when pressured and he be out of control a lot when driving to the basket
Coach JJ new system Knecht 4 will make a impact Vando coming back healthy Gabe coming back healthy Rui putting in work this season (per IG) AR will improve as a defender Only thing Lakers should do is pickup a Center. Then reevaluate the team near the trade deadline. IN ROB WE TRUST
@@Antoddly how did I do such a thing 😂 but correct LeSperm is on the team so Lebron has an abundance of motivation to lead by example. We should see improved and consistent effort from him defensively.
Reaves is not a point guard ! He struggles with high pressure defense he is isn’t a great facilitator at all he’s a pure shooting guard. We’ve already seen this
@@peteranders7106 using the sentence because of defense and austin reaves in the same sentence is crazy 😂 guys literally hunt him down. Jamal Murray on one leg was cooking reaves with little to no resistance
@@zayy2694 You know I heard these guys claim for almost 2.5 years that Austin Reaves had above average defense. I don't even know if these guys are watching the same game half the time. It's such horrible analysis. What do you need an analyst for if all they can do is blame the coach and PG every single season?
@@zayy2694 There was absolutely no resistance at all by Reaves. Murray and KCP didn't shoot very well in the series, but it had absolutely nothing to do with Reaves.
@@zayy2694cooking reeves?😂yall mfs just say anything on here Murray was shooting in the high 30s which is terrible and the shots he did get off was against the so called defensive midget in Gabe Vincent
Exactly. He could opt out to get more money cause now the Lakers wouldn't have a choice but to overpay him since DJM went to the pelicans. The Lakers would be stuck if he opted out but nobody want to pay him more than 18m. He want 25. Who the heck about to pay him 25 million a year, each year for 4 years. Nobody doing that 😂😂😂
@@MC-qf8op Use your brain. It amazes me how much people doesn't think...... Let's break this down. If people are going to trade for DLo it's not because they actually want dlo, it's because of he's contract. So they can clear up cap for next year. If Dlo opted out, a team would have to sign him to multiple years and pay more, it wouldn't be noway they could use him to clear cap space, so now since he only have 18 million on his last deal, teams can package something up for him so at the end of the year they'll have 18 million off of their books if they trade for DLo. Think bro. It's amazing how they have so many people who doesn't think
Yep! D'Angela is trash. Nobody wants him as a player. They may only want the contract. And that's only if they are willing to have him around their young players.
Dlo has been horrible in the playoffs the majority of his career. He has TWO back to back years showing his play gets worse in the playoffs. Yet people are saying give him another chance? Wth is wrong with people? He is who he is. Get rid of him!!!
Dude said dlo best role is 6th man if he stay didn’t we see how bad he was when he wasn’t starting man these then said Austin not a terrible defender why are they glazing Austin like he some top 20 player all nba all star player
I would like a solid starting 6, similar to Celtics (Tatum, Brown, Horford, Porz, Holiday and White all avg over 26 mins a game). I’m bringing Reeves off the bench and he’s definitely in the closing lineup. 6th Man of the Year…. We would need a solid 3 and D guard with DLo and a big that can take the pounding off AD
Lakers fans always trying to trade someone and wonder why they can’t get above 10th seed every single season you have to keep your team and gain chemistry no matter what trade they get we gonna be the 9th seed doing the in season tournament again just because we got a brand spanking new team AGAIN Dlo is absolutely a great player I think that JJ can utilize him better because Darvin Ham didn’t know how to use his strength
I thought u guys were intelligent but the facts you guys are fine with AR being main ball handler is beyond me. Did u guys see last year when he handled the ball he was AWFUL!
Dlo needs to be traded for this team to be successful... Dlo can't help in the playoffs.. he plays no D either... also, Reaves doesn't play good D either
Funny how the Lakers are treating DLO, people keep forgetting what he gave the Lakers during their run to the play in tournament, and if that's how the Lakers are treating their players, no legitimate star would want to play for them
Or how he saved them last year against Memphis and golden state, yet he’s a trash playoff player because he struggled against Denver just like Reaves did this year…? These fans are delusional…
@@talliferrob8555Reaves gets little to no hate for how trash he was this series. DLo breaks a record and These sociopaths wanna trade him…just meat riders.
I believe the total salaries (including lebron) are above the 1st apron now so no hard cap but the restrictions by being above the 1st apron are now active
Players probably don’t want to get traded to LA because if they lose it’s everyone fault but Lebron or if u guard you have to sit in the corner to be a spot up shooter
3 favorite trades dlo rui Vincent 2 firsts for bogdan and capela or just dlo and a first for bogdan straight up salaries match then gabe Vincent first rounder for Nick Richards straight up salaries match if they do the bogdan richards individually which would be incredible they keep rui…then just sell off 1 of their min contracts for a 2nd
Before they make any trades, I want to see what the Lakers are going to look like with Vincent, Vanderbilt and Christie. The first two practically missed the entire season and were supposed to be important rotation guys and Max hardly got any PT in favor of guys like Reddish.
