D&D Lore; Through the Eyes of Mystra 

Few years back during a campaign that my friend spent his heart and soul into making for five years. We had a quite scene after a heartwrenching loss and the army of gargoyle armies neared the capital. We gathered once more in the dead woods, tending to our wounds, mourning for the loss of our friends character who was our druid but more so our squad leader. Their were no words given nor needed to us that wasn't already felt onto our fellowship. Our barbarian had lost his relic, his swinging arm but worse was his pride as a warrior. He was the first to suggest to scout ahead during the night. Though he bared many a cut, bruises and marks across his stone like physic, he has never lost a limb before. In his own way, he made pray to his god for himself as he marched across the lifeless. As though the gods themselves have heard in ao's blessings. Our dm made this very moment one truly remarkable. Our barbarian meets with lathandeer face to face. Then as the rest of us prayed, with the rising of the very sun, so to did we encounter our worships. Mythra, elistree, helm, oghma and sune whom weeps with us for our druid. Each of us who were once so broken after a long war against stone and storms now rejuvenated, met with our deities of our purpose in this war and work towards this terrible wars end. Oghma being mine was proud of my little red grunge for my own thirst for wonderment, wanting to know the very world, but more so for keeping our fellowship strong. As for mystra herself was present, she herself told us that for this to end and life itself to return from the brink. Mortals alone will not be enough. Within her palm was the very bone.... of the creeping doom itself, only he as well his powerful dead can turn the tides. Our task now should we survive the coming week is to find dourmingander.....

In truth, 10th level magic, now simply called "Epic" does still function. It's 11th and 12th magic that's impossible by mortals now.

lore wise i thought high elves could still perform higher tier magic because the dont pluck from the weave like mortals do they bend and shape it for their uses. that and when they perform high magic it is done n a group/ communion?

To be honest I think Elminster might be the only one who could cast 10th or 11th level spells he just hasn't.
