Same thing is happening in a campaign I'm in, although we did manage to not murderhobo one guy who was a baddie that became an ally! And didn't even backstab us. I try to temper people from just murdering everyone but it's rarely successful. And I'm the damn barbarian...
Man, i remember my DD days.... i encountered a one eyed monster, underneath a castle of bandits. My party members were cocky from their level ups, and attempted to fight it. I stopped them, only to find a voice in my head. I made a deal with the cyclops, the bandits bodies for safe passage. Luckily i did, because I asked the dungeon master, the monsters's stats. It was many levels above us.
Oh my,either I'm getting really old or something but,man I couldn't wait to get my snacks and drinks and hunker down for the evening watching this.Better than any movie I've seen in a long time and so much fun.
'I don't trust anyone I don't know' - Takes gift from stranger whose Civilization encroachs on their tribe. I don't see this ending well (remembers history of native americans)
@@justammo9725JustAmmo or he didn't have a d3 and decided that two values mean their family is missing, one value means they're dead, and the last value is alive but close to death maybe?
You guys do probably one of the best D&D games on youtube! It is fun to watch because you have a spectacular set (the map with the props rocks!), a decent story line with good hooks from the DM, and the players are fun -- my fav is the guy with the beard that plays the druid because it seems like he just loves that character and enjoys everything the druid can do. The group listens to each other and no one really tries to dominate. The other one I really like that is like this one in spirit is the Chris Perkins with the Robot Chicken guys adventure.
Violet Deliriums I've just watched this and the Robot Chicken guys adventure before. Loved both of it, especially this one. Have you seen any other D&D adventures like that? I would really like to watch some other great games.
***** I think one other one with Chris Perkins is good: "FULL Chris Perkins UK Adventure - Celebrity D&D Game from 2010." Esper the Bard has some neat things with miniatures and maps on his channel. Then Rhykker and Cryaotic have games on their channels where they play by video conference and have an electronic board with tokens instead of tabletop maps. I have enjoyed all of these. So far, I'd say that the Node D&D is probably my overall favorite because I like the spectacular props and I like how this group interacts together, and the way that they are concerned with storyline and character motivations/hooks.
Still come back to this series all the time. Such a great campaign and incredible to have on in my headphones. Makes my work days so much more enjoyable.
+KMatt I'm sure they cut some small stuff that wasn't too noticable. Every content creator of board/tabletop games has to. They didn't cut much though. It's mostly just to speed the game up in out eyes.
If it were to become an anime the plot would be terrible and it would be a lot like game of thrones and then the guy would go like "KORO! (Death)" but it would not just make sense. Also the anime would be a reverse harem which nobody likes and animes don't do well when it's based on the past or when people can predict what's coming next.
Just getting back into DnD after a 20 year absence, my son is interested in it now so it’s the perfect excuse for me to join him, I have now watched all your DnD series and you guys are the funniest thing I’ve seen in ages, great work guys, I have loved watching your quests and can’t wait for more 👍🏻
+MrTechFox If you want more stuff like this look at geek and sundry, they have REALLY long sessions (like 3 hours per) and its very long if you want to watch a lot of DnD (also they`re all voice actors so that a plus)
after 7 years still waiting on a another adventure with Bran and Noki and D playing another character loved this campaign so much and would love a sequel :)
TangoDelta2 You should come to Canada, we may have semi-free healthcare, but we have shitty monopolistic internet. Thankfully small time re-sellers sell decent internet.
Paranoia is a geat roleplaying game thats all about horrible failure, backstabbing, and mistrust! Its one of the most enjoyable experiences I have had, and it would be a blast to watch you guys play.
Kniroid hello there i am completely interested in D&D as of right now...didnt know a thing about it. But the game u describe called paranoia where can it be found
I had a friend who tried to jump a cavern. he only needed a 10 to get across, but he got a 1 and had -1 dexterity. what the DM said was that he tripped the second he started running and only his head fell off the ledge, but his head popped off on a sharp rock....... anticlimatic eh?
This is, by far, my favorite D&D playthrough on RU-vid. It made me want to try the game, ultimately becoming one of my most passionate hobbies now. I watch this a few times every year because I love the play style and the inspiration I get from it! NODE, make a separate D&D RU-vid channel!!!
I know you guys have done sons of a dungeon but can u please do more of these. Everyone else that does d&d on youtube is cringey and boring, you guys on the other hand have me engaged and interested the whole way through
You guys really do need to keep doing these. This was awesome. You guys embodied the joys of D&D to a tee! And the after-effects of blood, fire, sound, etc. was just awesome.
I came back because I have so much nostalgia watching this when I was in school without a care in the world thanks for the joy you have brought to my life node ❤❤❤
Love coming back to the old D&D videos with Son of a Dungeon as a modern take on the format. Very sad that the Pokemon D&D videos aren't up anymore though :(
I have DMed for about a year now, and I have to say, I was inspired more by Sam than anyone else to try it myself. This campaign is the reason I ever got started and I can't imagine not doing it now. Thanks node, and thanks Sam!
Techno Lich This video has gotten me started too! I’m actually starting my first game in a few days and I’m super excited. It has about 7 people o.o I mean, I shouldn’t be judging before I have done it but, by the looks of it, it seems like a super fun experience. I know this comment is from like 10 months ago but I had an urge to respond to it. I still hope you’re playing today!
I remember watching the series as it came out all those years ago. This series got me into D&D and you know what? Im very very glad i did haha. This will always be known as the starting point for my hobby that i love the most. Thank you Node. And to an extent thank you Sam for giving me the inspiration to be an amazing DM. ♡
This is the best D&D session/campaign series on youtube, you guys have it spot on as far as the production values go and you are all genuinely having a good time which makes it fun to watch. Node should do more D&D videos, because reasons
