I played an Aasimar Redemption Paladin who later multiclassed Hexblade, and then died and rose again as a Divine Soul Sorcerer, and they were one of my most memorable characters. They were a religious scholar who chose isolation as a hermit to find self identity and then mysteriously found 2 swords with angel wings built into the pommels and a single strange letter telling them to go and meet somebody and become an adventurer. It turned out this mysterious figure was in fact my character's father who was a Planetar trying to guide my character to become the champion they were born to be, but I would later in the heat of the moment break my oath but had to be forgiven by my god so as to not become hypocritical (Oath of Redemption) but would be swayed by a sword that encouraged me to conquer. He would later die but because despite his flawed judgement in the moment had a truly righteous and pure heart and was allowed to ascend as an angel, but would briefly return now as a Divine Soul Sorcerer towards the end of the campaign to stop the BBEG. He would succeed and unfortunately most of the party didn't make it, and he ended up in tears using a scroll of Meteor Swarm as the only PC still standing to stop the guardian of the Lich's phylactory, taking out most of the party, the guardian and the phylactory with them. He was forgiven and revered as a hero by the previously enthralled Half Orc Vengeance Paladin of the party who survived, but the heavens deemed my character to whilst a righteous and good person be too volatile and dangerous and sealed him permanently to basically house arrest for his life. He would later become my next campaign's character's patron when I played a Celestial Warlock, sending her omens in the form of strange unexplainable entries in her diary to try and influence her to become a new hero and champion.

That’s really cool. Your dm really did a great job letting you go through that journey with all those changes. I really like the idea that your character had an ending. That’s something I really like, knowing that there story has its own completion feels right to just let it end there.

I am currently playing an Aasimar Bloodhunter; Order of The Ghost Slayer, going with that full-on radiant theme and, of course, using crossbow expert.

I was going to make an Aasimar paladin. Then I got to think about it. Why would an Aasimar join a paladin order? They have no need to look for divinity on on the ground. They have a direct connection to Divinity. So now I'm going to make an Aasimare fighter.

They are such a strong race/species you can’t really go wrong. And fighter happens to be one of my favorite classes

Any CHA Caster is a solid choice but any class would do. I can see Druids wild shaping and Celestial Revelation (Radiant Soul) for Moon Druid early flight but I like Stars Druid's Starry Form for both Radiant theme and attacks.

I like them for gish builds. I feel them being in the front lines, just kinda makes a lot of sense for me. And the Druid can absolutely so that.

No way bro, I'm playing a Conquest Aasimar right now! We share a distance towards our divine side, but my character on the other hand had a wonderful life. She simply had a heart of conquest and a soul of domination.

I love the duality of being an aasimar and a conquest paladin. I hope you’re enjoying it as much as I did! What’s the story behind your distance to your divine side?

@@TheSinisterheroes My character and I both believe being human gives us strength far more powerful than the gods. It's part of my oath not to use my Aasimar powers, so no wings or aura. However I do use the Light Cantrip and the Radiant and Necrotic resistances because the first is pretty minor, and the latter isn't really an action you can restrict.

Ah the Aasimar the heads to the teifling's tails of the coin I love how you can play an Aasimar I love sinister's Aasimar character's backstory and it makes sense because it's a really creative twist on the character and I find it fascinating that the Aasimar basically have what you could call the opposite problem from what the teifling's problem is because the Aasimar unlike the teifling race are seen in a positive light instead of being seen as a monster or demon child that the teifling has to deal with The reason why I consider this the opposite problem of the teifling is because an Aasimar can find the expectations that come with their angelic nature overwhelming and they sometimes become the fallen variant of the race very easily the scourge is a very interesting variant and i honestly prefer the fallen over the scourge mostly for flavor reasons fun fact I actually played a half orc barbarian named scourge bearthunder i made this one before I knew about the Aasimar and the scourge variant has a lot of damage potential and the protector is my least favorite of the Aasimar but it's still an amazing option though the flight and i think it gets a way of healing as well so still good
@TheSinisterheroes
@TheSinisterheroes 8 месяцев назад
The aasimar are strong and because I love the Tiefling I love the aasimar as well. The core is very similar, it’s just the choice of the celestials or some sort of hell.

@@TheSinisterheroes what if two players play a Aasimar and a teifling in the same campaign and have the two characters be siblings either one side of the family had angelic ancestry and the other had infernal ancestry so one inherited the divine essents of the celestial and the other inherited the infernal heritage of the devil or they both have the same human mother and one had a celestial father and the other an infernal father those are interesting and incredible character ideas in my opinion

Volo’s version is just better is every way. The damage output is severely nerfed on all three and, unlike the other races that MMM changed, you don’t get more uses per day. You still on get the once per long rest use but now they do significantly less damage. Damage equal to you Proficiency bonus for 1 min once per long rest Compared to damage equal to your level for 1 min once per long rest. There’s just no contest.
@TheSinisterheroes

I like the Volos cus the scourge damaged you as well. That’s my main reason.

My concept for Assimar was I was a full blown angel of a God who messed up and was cast down. Redemption paladin/ Divine Soul Sorcerer who remembers what he was and fights to redeem himself.
@TheSinisterheroes
@TheSinisterheroes Год назад
I like that, using the lore to give your self this weakened state of who you were, to drive this redemption. I like it you can use a bunch of different emotions and development for your failures. It can give you a bunch of different options for your character.

So I have questions as an aasimar, can they take on like some of the strongest within the D&D universe, and can they move at super high speed. Let’s say, if I want to create a character in D&D who is half angel half human, and i want them to go against a titan, can they face threats that strong ???
@TheSinisterheroes
@TheSinisterheroes Год назад
I mean at level 20 absolutely. Everything else could be done through clever dming. If that’s like the end boss of a campaign I can see it. Just manipulate the stat block.
