Yeah it’s one of those things where your so used to other skills being once a day, charms not being able to be used if the target succeeds etc. yeah you can keep trying which is pretty cool.
Oooooo I do love the fathomless warlock!!! And the charisma play with the swashbuckler rogue is very compatible. Did you have trouble with the multitude of bonus actions you have?
@@TheSinisterheroes Not at all honestly. I like the versatility so I don’t have to do the same set of actions every turn, and my strategy was to either do a full action attack and summon the tentacle to attack as a bonus action then walk away, or if I was low on health I just used my action to hide or target at a distance and the tentacle to keep dealing damage. It was a more role play based one shot though so I really used the charisma aspect of the character to it’s full extent and had that as his main stat. Conceptually it fit super well since both subclasses had the pirate feel to them
@@e443productions9 you are absolutely right. The tentacles and the swashbuckler pirate theme really go hand in hand. I am glad to see it was more of a roleplaying build cus those tend to be my favorite. Would you bring that character into a full campaign given the chance?
@@TheSinisterheroes 1000% only played at level 6, with rogue 4 warlock 2, and I can totally see myself giving him a parrot familiar as he progresses as well lol
Im currently playing a Swashbuckler Aberrant Mind Deep Gnome and it has been a lot of fun! Being a Swashbuckler has made RP during combat more rewarding and entertaining. This is only my third character but Swashbuckler and Aberrant Mind might be my favorite combo, so far, and they came together by accident when thinking up my backstory.
@Sinister Heroes I plan to do 12 Rogue 8 Sorc, currently I'm 5 and 5. My second character was an Alchemist Wild Magic Dwarf but it wasn't as fun as I had hoped. Wanted to play my first Rogue and going into Aberrant Mind just happened naturally but they seem to work well together. Multiclassing used to intimidate me but my Artificer Sorc was a learning experience and this Rogue Sorc has been exciting.
I am glad your having fun, I wonder what it ends up being like. I mean the concept in combat is cool cus you could either blow your spells first then go in with sneak attack, or vice versa. But in role play I think it probably takes off
@@panzer00 all things being equal, you'd probably get a little more out of 13 Rogue/7 Sorcerer. You'll get another subclass feature in Rogue (Elegant Maneuver), another Sneak Attack die, and the extra ASI you get at Rogue 10 still helps cover the one you'd miss from Sorcerer 8. I do love multiclass builds that come together organically through the story. That's how I ended up with my Lore Bard/Great Old One Warlock.
My favorite character of all my table top play was always Gyr'Ryk the pirate king. He wasn't he just thought he was. All swagger and panache. Duel weilding rapiers he named Sea Breeze and Dark and Stormy. He was a drow. Who was enslaved by his sister and forced to fight for her amusement. But he always smiled. And sh!t talked. Most fun I ever had as a player.
My next character is going to be a multiclass swashbuckler samurai. I am mainly going for a gambler who cheats type of play style, basically do risky moves and re roll when I can. Swashbuckler giving the risky 1v1 style fighting, mixed with the samurai giving advantage on some rolls and temp hit points, mixed with the peircer and lucky feats to do the same thing with my attack damage and pocket re-rolls. Plus Panache and Elegant Courtier are made for each other. As for the race I am thinking Haragon due to bonus on initiative, and jumping on chandelier just sounds fun.
@@TheSinisterheroes Harengon, the rabbit species/race from monsters of multiverse. It has a racial ability allow proficiency in initiative and that will stack with rakish audacity. As well as an ability to jump 30 ft at a bonus action without attack of opportunity and use of movement just fits the hit and run style. For background I am thinking charlatan due to one of the "favored cons" is cheating in cards, plus starting disguise kit makes me feel like I can do a bugs bunny routine.
Playing a Swashbuckler Rogue Halfling right now with crossbow expert. Just waiting until I can dual wield a rapier with the crossbow for maximum musketeer status.
