Great video and really cool equipment. Just a bit of criticism, slow down a bit when you talk. I would of enjoyed hearing some details in regards to the food and medicine kits.

The M1A1 Carbine was a great gun although unlike it's original full stock variant wasn't made in large numbers being only at 140,000 made produced by Inland of Dayton Ohio compared to standard M1s.

Another fact it saw use in the Korean War too although not as large numbers like during WW2

Did they carry assault gas masks? I only thought the infantry used them.

Hey man, whereabouts did you get your BC1000? Was it custom made, replica or an original? Really been wanting one but can't find one (that's a good price) and the right version. All the ones I've found are postwar/vietnam.

Cool Video mate ! It would be very cool and helpful if you could add a list in the order you explain what it is to the video description. Did ever Soldier of the Airborne had a sidearm like the M1911 ? Or just Perosonal like Sergeants, Officer and Machinegunner and Snipers ?
@nrsemn9135
@nrsemn9135 4 года назад
From my understanding paratroopers were the only units in which privates and non NCOs were authorized to have sidearms. Some were issued them and others were allowed to have them if they were sent from home.

What about the wrist compass! Didn't d day paratroopers use them! I've purchased one from ebay, appears to be original, doesn't work very well anymore! Great setup, I used to do a bit of collecting original GI equipment! Your setup was what I always wanted to do but life happens and other prioritys get in the way!!!

¿why would they need a gas mask?
@skulldozer1462
@skulldozer1462 3 года назад
A year later to answer your question every soldier participating D-day were told to bring their assault masks as a safety precaution in case if the Germans might launch gas at them which obviously they didn't but this kit is less heavier than the landing force for which the mask and its bag saved them from being drowned in the water

way way too much shit to carry...I bet most of those men would rather have had the bare necessities and survived instead of drowning when hitting a reservoir or lake and sinking to the bottom.... if it were me, I'd have had a pistol, ammo, knife, water, compass, a few rations, done....
@sqike001ton
@sqike001ton 6 лет назад
this was supposed to be the bare minimum most carried more. The leg bag was supposed to allow for that but the us jumped at faster speeds than the brits and the wind ripped off the guys leg bags leading to some of Normandy's cluster flock after that the guys didnt use them till after the war
