D-Day Books! 

I love The Longest Day movie. Stellar cast and story. I might have to track down this book myself somewhere. I will also read anything from Stephen Ambrose too.

I found out about Ted Roosevelt 's participation in D-Day from The Longest Day. I have the movie which i purchased from a video store when it was going out of business. It's my favorite D-Day movie and i watch it at least once a year.

You have, like always, interesting books again. I saw recently the books "Sand and Steel" and Holland's book "Normandy 44," and I almost got them both, but I put control on myself temporarily to read some of my many unreads. I'm so behind in the Ambrose's reading compared to you; I'll be starting the fourth chapter of Ambrose's D-Day tomorrow morning and so far I really enjoy the reading. Some of the military technical details have gone over my head, but in general this is a very readable book for anyone. I'm looking forward to finish it and start The Human Face of D-Day. I will be reading them well into July as I'm a slow reader, I also read other books in between, and I take two summer courses beginning July 9. I had never read before a full book that focuses on D-Day only, and I'm very glad I do now. Very interesting and informative. Have a great day, Peg!

Nice video Peg! I remember when I was young I read a book on General Omar Nelson Bradley, and it touched on D-Day. I remember when The History Channel was full of World War 2 documentaries. I miss those days.

I would definitely love to read The Longest Day and Storm and Steel! Thank you for giving some other books to keep my eyes out for! I read Ambrose's D-Day earlier this year and loved it. I think before I read another D-Day book, I'm planning on reading either John Keegan's The Second World War or Robert Leckie's Delivered From Evil to gain an overview of the entire war. I'm not sure which one to pick!

Well, I'd already picked up "Sand and Steel" and "The Dead and Those About to Die," but now the other titles sit nestled in my withered cerebral wad to be the stuff of future compulsions. I'm starting to think this event is a bad influence. 👍 Discernment, eh? You ever thought it was creepy that the Adversary offered the world's kingdoms in return for Christ's adoration, and Christ never really denied that said kingdoms were his to give? I always thought the implications were troubling. Or maybe I'm just being my usual mopey self. 🙄 Edit: And yes, French is indeed a gross language -- even if women can make French ACCENTS sound cute. 😊
