When he said "Some Will Never Return" it gave me chills just thinking men left their homes and never came home.

I really wish my generation would understand the sacrifice that was payed for in blood so that they could live in a free nation. I had a WWII veteran thank me for my service and I told him "Why are you thanking me? I haven't done anything. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to live in a free nation. You are the real hero. Not me." I give my full respect to all WWII veterans for a war that really was for the freedom and safety of the world. Any veterans reading this, thank you for paying for my freedom.

I can barley even play paintball without feeling scared of being shot. These men confronted actual bullet and their enemies who were sent to kill them. The amount of bravery and courage it takes to run in a hail fire full of bullets is immeasurable. Godspeed everyone...

I was watching the 80th Anniversary of D-DAY JUNE 6, and I saw the very young taking part in many remembrances, which goes to show they're not forgetting, & that brought a tear to my eyes

Today marks the rememberance of those who sacrificed themselves to fight the forces of darkness, to those who risked it ALL for our freedom, for those who fought the Reich and with each ship, marked another boot on their doorstep, shall it be known, the Allies and it's friends will NEVER back down from a challenge. it's been 70 years since i still remember the story of my landing in normandy. and did various missions with my friends but only a few of them survived. i still remember their faces well.

As the last scene rolled by, I thought about just how many men gave up their lives, their dreams, dozens of years of sorrow, joy, grief, every ounce of potential they had, all to insure that the following generations, no matter how reckless and stupid they were, had a chance to experience everything they gave up. To the 415,000 Americans alone who died, thank you. And to the rest of the world, thank you. Thank you for the opportunities I have today because of you.

My grandfather would tell me about the winter campaign of 1944. Which was the battle of the bulge. My family was grateful for his service and return home. I'm thankful for all the men and women who made the sacrifice for the greater good for the world.

As a young man today I can confirm that over 90% of the role models I looked for growing up without a father, have passed away. The amount of respect I have for these men makes me feel courage and love in my heart.

My Great grandfather served in this War as a Marine nearly killed by a Japanese soldier who shot him in the head He was left disabled but alive and is still alive today There is never a moment I can never thank him enough for his sacrifice but today many neglect and forget about what many have done to get them here today

The anniversary of D-Day. This is the day that thousands of the best and brightest of our loved ones stormed the beaches of Normandy to give their blood, sweat, and lives to destroy the Nazi war machine. When i feel lost, their stories give me guidance. When i feel fear, their sacrifice gives me courage. When i feel weak, they remind me to be steadfast. As of late, too many people have forgotten what it means to be a true American, and the honor that is to die so that another can live free. We have forgotten to respect each others differences, and that true Americans fight to the death for each others right to speak their beliefs. We can never repay the sacrifices they made for us, however, we can honor them by remembering the way they lived their lives and when the day comes where we must stand to protect our freedom we will do so just as they did, and die proudly if necessary. We are not special. Freedom is paid for with righteous blood, and we must never forget that. I will never forget, and i will never quit. Pleas join with me June 6th and honor the survivors and the fallen of WWII. To the American fighting man. Our brother's should never be forgotten. I have been studying war for some part of my life and no battle is more epic or sad than the battle for Normandy. In WWII it was the fathers who buried their sons.

My grandfather fought for the Allies in WW2 and he is only 17 years when he got enlisted for the war in India🇮🇳 during WW2.. during the D-day he was in Italy, fighting italians and then he got transferred to burma to fight the Japanese.. after the end of WW2, my grandfather moved to USA..my grandfather died in 2008..he never shared anything about WW2 to my family...he was a happy person outside but I don't t how much he suffered inside in his heart ❤️ losing his friends during the war.. people should realize allies means not just America🇺🇲, British, Soviet Union and Commonwealth..but many Indians, africans, and others who are in British colonies fought during WW2.

American here, My Great Grandfather served in the navy during the war. He wasn’t drafted he volunteered because he felt like it was his duty to serve his country. The ship he was on was there in the water during D-Day. From what I’ve been told he was never quite the same man after the war for obvious reasons. Although I unfortunately never got to meet him but I can say that he was truly a hero as were all the people who served and fought in the name of freedom during the Second World War. This video brings me to tears every time I watch it, not just because of the enormity of the sacrifice these men made to give their nation in the world a better future, but because of how it has been wasted upon truly lesser generation, my generation, we truly are the Unworthy inheritors of a great legacy paid for by the blood of worthier men and women.

What these soldiers did on D-Day should never be forgotten. Visiting the beaches and learning about the sheer mass of people and what they had to do is incredible. One of the major sacrifices made to protect us all from fascism and liberate those trampled under it's foot. It was the first major turning point that led to pushing back the Nazis on the western front. There are a lot of people who bitch and moan about the USA for whatever reason but without their mass resources none of this or the Soviet turnaround against the Germans would have been possible. They provided not just a massive military might but also supplies and weapons to the British and Soviets that helped them push back.

When I watch this, I miss my great grand father, he told me that he don't want to fight the American at the Normandy beach because he was afraid, when he saw the American, he thought to himself that the war will over soon. He passed away when I was 11 year old, I miss you grandpa.
