To anyone, but specifically my Asian subscribers:
I honestly don’t even know where to even begin but being silence is not an option. I want to put in perspective on this matter especially to all my Asian people. Because if I’m being real honest, society has taught us to stay away from black people or see them as bad people. WE ARE THE PROBLEM and we need to be educated. I was taught to hate on people with dark skin when I AM A POC MYSELF. Like seriously?
Growing up in a predominant white area, I’ve have gotten so many racial slurs and threats growing up just because I was Asian. This pandemic was the scariest I’ve ever felt my family and the Asian community. But none will never compare to the ones that black people have to live through EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
Imagine being taught to live in fear because of your skin color. If seeing a police MURDER a black man doesn’t make you realize how unfair our system is still, than YOU ARE THE REASON.
Imagine not being able to speak up for yourself or others without having white people and even your own race backlash you. If you can’t educate yourself or see the issue, that’s because you are literally so privilege, you don’t even realize it. The things that are happening in America right now doesn’t even concern you because it’s not your race right? Stop being so entitled and speak out.
I’m not saying all of this to compare the two situations but to make y’all understand the matter that your skin sadly defines who you are and your backgrounds. Your skin gives you more privilege than you’ll ever know. Even I’ve benefit from this system.
So use this time to educate yourself and change your ways. Invest your time to unlearn your internalized racism. You don’t have to be a poc or be from the USA to recognize injustice and privilege.
