Ok, so I’ve been getting a lot of comments saying that what I’m doing isn’t a coolant flush. They are indeed correct, hence is why I changed the title of this video. I am working on making a proper coolant flush video for the 2003 crv. Thanks for understanding!
Honda's 1990 and after started using the blue coolant. But if you're not completely sure, just call up your local Honda Dealership. They will tell you the type of coolant you will need. You could just buy from the dealership it shouldn't cost you more than $30 to get the full jug.
Actually, this is how most dealerships flush coolant. If you want to do it the correct and proper way, you’ll have to fill the coolant, run it, then drain it again until the fluid that is coming out is clean. That is a very time consuming and hassle. This way, you’re running the coolant through the system and burping it. If you regularly drain and fill the coolant and burp it you should be fine, if you haven’t for let’s say 200k miles then I would suggest doing a proper flush.
You can easily do it without the tool but you’ll need to open the breather valve. I don’t know where specifically, but it’s possible to do it without it. The tool makes it easier to burb the system. If you’re gonna complain about a $50 tool then maybe you shouldn’t be working on cars period lol.
