Hi, Jenn! Good video and thanks for sharing your thoughts. Having lived through an EF4 tornado last March at home, my takeaway now is to carry a Midland W120 weather radio in our t@b400. Now in my regular set-up routine I program in the state/county of our campground and enjoy the stay knowing I've got a communication source. If weather is bad I will sometimes additionally seek out a local meteorologist on twitter to receive updates. I've found a local meteorologist will update more often and sometimes faster than the news station he/she is associated with. Safe travels, Jenn!

Yes, I have a Midland radio, but found it didn't work in remote locations ir mountains, sadly. I agree about Twitter. I follow a lot of NWS local offices. The other key is to know what county you are in and local community names nearby. I am glad you were OK after the F4!!

Lol another day in paradise! Enjoy the trip, potholes and all! Been to Palo Duro, got the hat, looking forward to going back on my way to Big Bend National Park, which I've never been too for some reason.

I love getting rocked to sleep in our Tab in our backyard (where it's stored). I also love the pitter patter of rain on it's roof also. I have not traveled east of Utah so far (in my adult years anyways) and really enjoy watching travel/camping videos of everywhere I haven't been yet. Thanks for taking us along on you and Rockys adventures.

Great tips. I live in Oklahoma and so many people when driving through do not tune into weather stations. I also do this when I travel. Glad everything turned out ok.

I am really enjoying this journey! I haven’t been out west since I’ve owned a camper, but I did take a tent and go out to Colorado and back camping. We were unprepared for the record lows and snow in August!

We used to have a motorhome. In 2000, we were headed east and stopped in Kearney, Nebraska, overnight. We have seven children, and The Baby (who is the only remaining "child" at home now) was a newborn. When we checked in, the campground owner told us that the area was under a tornado watch but if it turned into a warning, we would have to go to the shelter which he showed us on the map. He said if it did, he would go from site-to-site to let everyone know if we needed to go in. I made certain I had a diaper bag full of baby things and "kidtainment" like coloring books, etc. We made certain ALL SHOES were lined up in the kitchen area and ready to be put on. We also made certain we had flashlights and water bottles. Then my husband went to sleep. I swear I didn't sleep A WINK that night!

Wow, that would have been a lot of people to get to a shelter in a hurry!

@@JennGroverPhotography Thankfully, our four oldest children were 16, 15, 13, and 11 that year. They were very helpful with our Litttles who were 4, 3, and newborn. (We basically had two families. Heh.) I think it would have been fine, but I didn't want to find out! And we didn't. One other trip we saw weird weather (again in Nebraska) and pulled off the interstate into a truck stop and parked between two semi-trucks. There was no portable computer in our pocket at that time so we had to rely on AM Radio.

I was under a tornado watch with a warning close by in Nebraska, once, too. Weather can change so quickly.

There is more to New Mexico than desert! Sorry it was windy when you were in Bernalillo (Bur-nuh-lee-ow). I hope that you come back to New Mexico and see something more than Bernalillo too.

Agree! No where in the SW is fun in a dust storm, but I am sure I will be back.
