Just Imagine if THE GOD RAKIM LAID SOME VERSES OVER THIS BEAT WHICH ORIGINALLY WAS INTENTED FOR HIM. I LOVE WILL SMITH BUT RAKIM WOULD HAVE BEEN NEXT LEVEL. HOWEVER I REALLY BELIEVE RAKIM WAS A GROSTWRITER. FOR WILL ON SUMMERTIME.

He wasn't. Will had just partied the night before and they was about to drop their album. They gave him the beat and Will said it was the only song he ever wrote in one session. He was at the airport cause a delayed flight. When he went to rap he couldnt go higher pitch because his voice was hoarse and when he realized he sounded like Rakim he was hype and the rest is history.

That woulve been insane. Would've been a top 10 song of all time. And no,leave will on it and Will wrote his own shit believe it or not. This is dope because it had Jazzy's production. That's why Will's later shit was wack. Jazz wasn't masterminding the sound. Honestly, the beat won the Grammy, not Will's lyrics
