So at 5:28 this sound is made by a combination of 3 things, first you need the basic "tongue bass" which is rolling the letter "R" with your tongue with lots of force. He does this tongue bass while doing a clean gargle to create a new texture in the sound. Then he adds a voice (like sort of huming) on top of the bass. So he's pitching both the tongue bass + gargle and his voice to create this overtone like sound

@@setonhillstudios you mentioned in the video on how he "isn't breaking cadence", there are realistically 3 types of sounds, ones that require no air at all, ones that require you to inhale, and ones that require you to exhale. So theoretically if you repeatedly do a sound that exhales a lot of air and then use a sound the inhales a lot of air, you can do these two sounds forever because you wont run out of air. So when structuring a beatbox song you want to be mindful of that. An example of this is at 5:11 he uses a lot of air to do this build up for the drop and so at the climax of the build up he chose to do 2 sounds that inhale at 5:25 (the sub bass and snare) right before the drop so that he has enough lung capacity to perform the drop because the following sounds in the drop require you to exhale even more.

Being a drummer, I *VERY* highly recommend checking out a couple of LIVE beatbox battles that are not only incredible but are fan favorites: Both are from the Grand Beatbox Battle 2021 event: 1) Helium vs King Inertia and/or 2) Alexinho vs FootboxG

To answer your question at 3:00, yes beatboxers make multiple sounds at once. In this specific instance, D-Low was singing the melody falsetto through his nose while clicking his tongue on the roof of his mouth for the hi-hats and whenever there's a kick, he uses his lips a produces a plosive "B" sound followed up by a lip buzz for the bassline. The second half requires so much more explanation xD. Lots of techniques involved but D-Low is indeed one of the best. I'd also recommend checking out a new school beatboxer named ZVD. He has a routine called Pressure thats absolutely insane

D-Low is a beast! Haha i only just started listening/watching beatboxing for a few months now. He has some tutorials up incase you ever wanna practice yourself haha. Also there's a beatboxer named Show-Go who is pretty dam good as well. I would recommend If We're Together, Silver and You're Gone. All 3 are pretty good songs 🙂

I've played guitar and drums for since I was 8 and now I'm 25 lol 4 years ago I learned about beatboxing and dove in and learned anything and everything about it , after getting to a certain level of beatboxing, expensive insturments sent need to make cool sounds 😂😂❤️🎶👽

I would highly recommend Helium and Zer0. They are two highly technical beatboxers with crazy skills and I think you'd be very interested in their style. For specific videos, I'd recommend Helium's GBB 2021 wildcard and Zer0 Down to the Floor

I think the sound at the end you couldn’t figure out was tongue bass, he rolls his tongue to make a base sound while singing over it.

You can actually do 2 sounds at once, but not more. You can make a sound with your vocal folds and a sound with your toungue, mouth, teeth or something simmilar. But like I said there is no option to do more than 2 sounds. Anything that sounds like 3 sounds or more is just perfect timed or produced by really fast patterns of vocal techniques. Thank you for spreading the beatboxing community btw

As you’re a drummer I generally suggest checking out helium bbx. Maybe not yet, bbx is a rabbit hole and I think these shocks are too early for now but I’d recommend checking out helium gbb23 wildcard round 2 and helium vs king inertia gbb21. He’s the goat of drum bbx

yes sir im a Beatboxer not a Pro Beatboxer jet but im not bad eather nice tecnics to learn as a beginner are The Basics well obvious but some different snares and voice based humming ellements as well as klicks you can make a lot of nice beats with it an you dont have long learn times lip basses are also kinda easy at least to me but you have to find your own style and what is easy for you and fits you to realy progress as a Beatboxer so good luck and have FUN👍
