Composer and musician, Matt Winn formed electronica & jazz influenced dance group, D*Note in the early 90's. In 2001, Fuchsia Dog, the fifth D*Note album, was released along with another film, Out Of The Game, for which it was the soundtrack. "Shed My Skin", a co-composition with Anita Kelsey and featuring her vocals.

Yes! I’m 42 and this reminds of when my son was born in 2001. I would listen to it while I got be at home with him. It’s very bittersweet and emotional and so nostalgic. What a time

I was searching for this song for almost 10 years.. All I remembered was my memory of the person dancing on a beach at the dawn ...... Today , I walk in the kitchen of the restaurant I work for and one of the chefs was playing the song . I stopped immediately on listening the verses and the lyrics . . Not kidding ... I was around 15-16 when I used to listen this masterpiece. Not its over, I wont stop playing it again

Dude the Google algorithm is out of control. I just found this song only remembering half a lyric and finding someone asking the same question in a 2007 forum post and Google put that post in the top results.
