Worked last night. Studied for an exam all day. Cooked, cleaned, homeschooled, changed diapers and gave hugs in between it all. Came up for air and found this video. I shed tears. Thank you for this song✊🏿.
I’d put the kids to sleep after a long day of taking care of everything and I was catching up on work when I found it...I can relate. It’s so thoughtful to have this piece of art to further these conversations about how society “deals” with us as black women. 🖤🖤🖤
As a married working man, that initial dialogue really made me contemplate. I am my best version at work, but when I'm at home I feel like I don't try as hard to please my wife like I do my boss. Considering I don't even like my boss, I find this fact quite sad. This is true art here.
Lol I watched the first episode with snoop said "this man just won no pint in watching the rest" didn't finish watching it then realised he has an while album and now this.
D smoke speaks truth in all his music. All those who ain’t rappin bout nothin but money n drugs take a hit of this substance. Use your platform to speak life.
I haven't really listened to rap/hip hop since A Tribe called Quest/Run DMC went out and Gangster came in, and on account of being a metalhead I'm not really in touch with the scene, but once in a while as I'm clicking around I'll find a gem like this one that has something to actually say that makes me appreciate this genre once more :3
Im one of them - I call him the next Kendrick because Kendrick is the best right now also def one of the goats wit a many influence & heavy lyrics. D Smoke got the potential to be the next Kendrick!
@@MikeEpps90 Thats a huge NOPE!! he aint no Kungfu Kenny, He a better artist overall than Kendrick,...he can sing, rap, and play musical instruments...he is just missing the push and back up from a major label, but i prefer him like this in his raw musical talent...as soon as he signs to a label,..his talent gonna be watered down to trash lyrics and trap beats as thats what makes money now. PS: i love kendrick too.
I literally looked over to my sleeping wife and teared up. This woman has my back!!!! keep the dope work fam.... been a fan since the Rhythm and flow days.
@Splooshy not according to those words but ok... im not condemning him, I just think we should watch what we say...we've been cursing our selves without knowing it for hundreds of years... the God we serve has explicit rules for eternal life...
@@TheMeriot1 It's not disrespect, it's truth. God is a Black woman. She was a Black woman long before men decided She was a man, and White at that. Look at the Venus of Willendorf, carved 25,000 years ago back when we lived the path of our spirit and not the path of our ego.
Wow. ❤️✊🏾👑 As a Black woman, I constantly feel unseen, unappreciated, and unsupported. Thank you for shedding light on our struggles. Blessings to your Mother...she must be responsible for a great deal of your insight. I'm sharing this with everybody I know.
I am speechless. From This Southern Bell Survivor Single Mother Elder Sister Moaning Daughter Warrior Cooker Business Black Woman Smile and Cursive saying Thank You for your truth help me feel you heard my blues and ought all the songs God choose you. Thanks for This Message of Truth 💖💖💖.
D Smoke is a legend in the making and I'm glad I get to see him carve out his legacy! As a future music educator, I look forward to teaching students about music like yours sir! Keep on Keeping on!
@Nick Perugini The radio and most media platforms basically form part of the master narrative of whiteness and white supremacy so of course they are not going to play music that speaks to black women's liberation. You are being so toxic with your negativity. Your anti-black energy is not welcomed, please dont speak on issues that do not involve you and please stop spreading hate with ALL your comments. You are literally only making yourself look dumb, LOL
This need to go BIG !! I wish I had a big públic to support things like this one, I mean, when a black man does something positive and with substance all the other big and famous ones should share it to show it to our people. Like, we should make a social media movement called, the excellence of the day, where everyone share it.
This has to be the most beautiful visual I’ve ever seen. “I love you so I get the least of you.” That part hit hard! From beginning to end, this is art. 🖤
Beautiful. In a world that takes pride in bashing Black women I'm so appreciative of you uplifting us, all that we do, and the burden we carry. Thank you for this ♥️
Who is your God? We are the Gods of this planet. and if he doin good... why he need protection. 🔫? Only protection we have against “ “ is us. We lack unity and far as my experience as a good God goes. Our Women and women as a whole... their government (not ours) is our enemies..Its no God outside of you. We all we have. God is love. Love save us.
Damn I needed to see this, was feeling hopeless as a black woman in this world. we have nobody that has our backs like we have everyone else’s. Most imitated yet most hated. No protection.
have another back is nice but we gotta have our own.. I know must be difficult but that the reality now..everyone’s problem bigger then yours in their mind whether true or not when you need a friend crickets and when they need you, demands! unfortunately even within families in whatever circle it’s become like so.. hope and wish for you complete autonomy and independence best love,
I been rooting for this guy since I seen him on the nexflix special and won the competition. When I heard him rap in Spanish I knew he was truth. Latinos rooting for you brother!🔥🔥🔥🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🐐🐐🐐
Not saying he needs it as confirmation for his greatness because that’s already evident but kindly give him his NAACP, his BET, His Grammy, his Billboard and whatever else so that a larger platform can appreciate his work.
I'd like to thank our black women for ALL that you do, and I will work and also encourage others to lift and support you as you've done for us. Thank you D Smoke for using your influence to shift the minds and culture of our community in a direction of growth.
I love it. Please keep making music that centers black people- the children, women, and men. I'm so proud to be a Black woman and I am so proud of you as a Black man. My people are so dope.
Very powerful lyrics, production and sound. The washing of the women black feet... like in the Bible a women gave all her beautiful perfumes ( aroma) gave all she had to wash Jesus feet! Wow I see so much in this video... just all the stories... this had me in tears because today we still are living in this. D smoke always voicing the TRUTH!
Okay that intro had me in my feelings...then the rest of the lyrics, like bullets punching holes in the body, mind, and soul. When you been taught there are no excuses.
Intro] Hmm [Verse 1] Imagine a day without women (Women) I bet your first thought was "Who 'bout to take care of the children?" (Children) That's just like us, placin' all of their value in rearin' Lil' versions of our imperfect hearts on the surface Hard to work with soft at the core, won't explore past traumas, just to make sure he could be a good father (Yeah) Imagine they missin' from starter (Starter) We stuck in predicament that we can't fix with our wallets Now we must deal with our garbage, baggage Imaginе a world with no magic (No magic) It must be so apocalyptic (Yeah) Ain't no colder prеdicament (Yeah) Imagine God, say she sick of it And took all our women [Chorus] (This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you) The rapture (This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you) [Verse 2] Imagine a world with no flowers (Oh) Imagine all sand but no beach, no sweet only sour No leaves on the trees, zero oxygen, I can't breathe, I believe Heroes often wear my [?] prophets, then prophesize of this day, ain't believe 'em Just like a nigga that think she won't leave him Blink of an eye, you went to the sky I know you see him lookin' down, ain't you disappointed? It took this fast to get the point and Took a picture, then disappear, missin' mornings With you wakin' up next to me Breakfast in bed, should've did that more regularly Bacon and eggs, be the least we could to show you we appreciate you but it's too late Heaven got you in your true state Listen here to what the fool say when you're gone [Chorus] (This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you) The rapture (This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you) [Verse 3] Imagine you was only dreamin' (Yeah) Imagine you wakin' up, holdin' and squeezin' the show Wonder just how you feel in every moment Knowin' that she could be gone and Heaven's home to all of the children (Yeah) After that vision I'm willin' to listen After that sentence to an existence without passion, I'd risk it all to give it all right back to a woman Can't turn our backs on the women Do more than chill and relax on a woman Secure you the bag, and invest the stashed Lil' boy gon' be man, can't place a tag With a price on a life, with the right woman Ike with the right, try to fight women Die, nigga die if you strike women (Yeah) I question if you even like women (Yeah) Your breath could leave you in a second, nigga Real niggas lay down, protectin' women Still recognize that I ain't perfect, got a dozen thanks to her And cause stress for the women God bless 'em Life served me hard lessons (Hard lessons) Just keep in mind this season time ends The womb is where all life begins, no world without women [Chorus] (This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you This time we're gonna see, I'll save you) The rapture (This time we're gonna see, I'll save you)
This is beautiful and artistic. Focusing on black women and hitting some great points. Black women are incredible! I hate that allot of people expect bw to be strong and protect others. We need to protect, help and uplift black women. This song reminds me of Tupac's Keep Ya Head Up

this guy never let me down yet..... i wanna personally thank his mother for raising such humans. an extended thank you to his woman for continuing to keep him inspired.
This song is so powerful the lyrics touch me so deeply , that you D Smoke recognize how Beautiful and strong Black woman are. The video was" ABSOLUTELY AMAZING". I became emotional watching it. I applaud you and I thank you for bringing such a powerful message to light! Peace & Love
"If Black women were free, it would mean that everyone else would have to be free since our freedom would necessitate the destruction of all the systems of oppression." ~ The Combahee River Collective Statement
@Nick Perugini This song is about educating and appreciating black women and it's interesting to see what you have taken away from it. Please don't comment if you don't have anything valuable to say. Peace and Light
@Nick Perugini if he sounds like a person on crack. I'm guessing you know some crackheads. Also, I don't really know what you listen to but you need to learn to listen to some good music. ❤️
This is....simply touching. I feel as if this is an ODE to Black Women. We are truly undesired in the eyes of society unless it’s for pleasure filled benefits. Thank you King. Truly. ❤️
You are an innovator, a way-shower, a hidden truth revealer. What your talent can create is limited only by your vision. I look forward to your continued evolution.
This has me in tears...still does...we pray for our men, worry, support but we do it for love not recognition. This is beautiful simply beautiful and thank you from the bottom of my heart for it ❤️❤️❤️
One thing said or reapeated a million time, becomes true, so everyday artist should put black pride up and reapeat we love us just as we are and look. So we cure ourselves from the hate they put on us. we are amazing, a million time said.
There are no words that explain how much I love you and your music you speak to my soul you really do dude I am so proud of you I'm so proud of you because you are a man a real man I have never in my life seen somebody or heard somebody talk like you you're amazing bro keep it up I love you
This is ART! The Planet is getting the right voices , where they should be. Great times are coming. Big hug from Portugal bro. You are one of the ONES. 💫 BLESSINGS
Yes he is become born again maam Surrender your life to God, believe in your heart Jesus died on the cross for you for your sins, that God raise Him from the dead, confess Him as your Lord (Roms 10,10), ask for forgiveness and repent of all your sins. True faith is sincerely believing, repenting & surrendering yourself to Him. Come to Him now with a prayer something like this: REPENT (JESUS NEVER CREATED A RELIGION) Dear God, I confess that I am a sinner and separated from You because of my sins. I am truly sorry & deserve Hell, and now want to repent & forsake my sinful life and all the idols that I have been living for. Forgive me, I also forgive all who have sinned against me. I believe that your son, Jesus, died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, and is alive. I confess Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, and invite Him to reign in my heart from this day forward. Thank you Jesus, for dying for my sins and giving me Eternal Life. I will now follow you all my days. In Jesus name Amen. Put your whole trust in Jesus Christ Turn to Jesus before its to late
Stop with the Kendrick Lamar comparisons. Damn. It's like y'all never heard substantive music from many artists. Let Dsmoke live. He ain't nothing like any other artist.
The amazing thing is that his music videos have so much depth and it feels like an entirely new and independent project which is focussed on even more elaborate storytelling. Crazy hard work and dedication. Even after 20 years or more, we will come back and submerge ourselves into these masterpieces which are indeed independent of the time they were made in. Humbleness, honesty and truth is striking out. Truly blessed to hear, see and feel pure art from this master storyteller.
That opening conversation was Nikki Giovanni and James Baldwin. So powerful how D Smoke just knows it's time... the Age of Aquarius is here and nothing can stop it.
Wow what an amazingly powerful, beautiful song and video, D you’re truly gifted. This made me cry and as a Native American/Mexican man my Black Brothers & Beautiful Black Sisters I have your backs ✊🏽
Omg!!!! This!!!! D Smoke, you have a powerful gift on your life. Those times that you feel like giving up, don’t! Those times when you feel like what you say does not matter, it does! You really don’t understand how many lives you touch with what God has placed on the inside of you. Keep going!
Your artistry is unmatched. Your craft is truly phenomenal and so rare. Please don’t ever stop making music. You are God sent, and I truly believe you are here to make waves in our generation. Sorry if I sound cheesy but my essence is shaking from watching this. I knew you were different after watching you in Rhythm and Flow. You have a gift and you’re going to move mountains!
As ALWAYS I am SPEECHLESS!!! As a STRONG BLACK WOMAN, SINGLE MOTHER, & the SOLE/SOUL PROVIDER THAT RAISED ANOTHER QUEEN; I AM HONORED!!!!❤❤❤🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
I come back to this song almost daily. And every single time I play it, I feel God. Your talent is a gift. Truly magical. The lyrics, the delivery, the video, the meaning, the instruments, the soul, YOU.
YES!!!!! D SMOKE!!!! That intro was genius! Shout out to the Nikki Giovanni and James Baldwin interview replay from back in the day!!!!!! I've seen this video many times and just caught this! Wow... if you don't know, now you know!
I'm so glad I decided to follow this man's work after the competition. He's hands down amazing! I would definitely love a Kendrik collab. Everyone says this too so I know many wanna see this happen.
