While seeing (and listening) this on RU-vid, i'm also watching D Train being interviewed right now on a program called "Profiles" (aired: October 12, 2024).
Me too, I remember dancing at the Bitten Apple so cute, I HAD MY STEPS OFF THIS SONG. 😂😂😂😂I WAS ASKED TO GET OFF THE DANCE FLOOR. I WAS TEARING IT UP. 😂😂😂
I was a little girl in the 80’s and my teenage siblings would have this playing in the background. RIP to my brother. This is the stuff great memories are made of ❤
I dance with him while he was singing this off the chain jam at a club in Newport News, VA about 15 yrs. I had a great times, every one was cheering🎉🎉🎉
The soundtrack to New York City in the early 80s! I had my Walkman blasting as I walked the streets of the Apple. You can get an awesome cadence to the beat of this! The city's energy then was bursting beyond measure. And go take the "D" train...might like the scenery!
I want this song played at my wedding. We had a CD with greatest hits and I would always beg my dad to play this in the car during long drives. Best memories 😭💕💕

So many deep good memories of this choon and era, good friend and american veteran Markus Dawson passed away this week sept 2024,sad when i hear this awesome track, one your faves.RIP Mr D😔
This sparks tidal waves of nostalgia for me!!! Riding in the trunk seat of my Dad's station wagon heading to the family cookouts at the beach!!! Thank you D-Train!!!
This music is pure class & this never dies out all these years later & it doesn't age aswell & it's way better than the crap music of today that's for sure.
This somg is iconic. I remember seeing them on Soul Train. Don Cornelius notated these 2 men played all the instruments. This song still rocks today & makes you want to dance. Everybody to the dance floor NOW!!!
I think the way this track starts is so harmonically different and then bang disco comes in with more vocals to get you going and will make people sing "you just don't know" at the top of their voices for years and years to come..BOOM THANKS!! 💥💃😘
This was a huge hit here in the UK, as was 'Music' and both are still dance floor anthems at parties. Certainly not unrecognised on this side of the pond.
Its sounds more fresh and powerful today...the era of the 80s and 90s were a gift to the musical world...pay attention young folks...this is something you won't be able to grasp again!!!!
I agree. I love the way D-Train does his vocal harmonies in full voice and sings with such raw conviction, as well as coming up with interesting chords and vocal layering. I am a big fan of vocal harmonies and Mr. D-Train does it best in that department. His lead vocals go without saying. He takes you to church with his delivery with fiery conviction in every note. He has an awesome vocal range as well, from the thick, weighty and soulful baritone to the awesomely strong falsetto/low-end whistle register notes in his songs. Still a force to be reckoned with over 40 years later!
I am so blessed to have someone that truly understands that we must "KEEP PRESSIN' ON" ...GOD HAS OUR BACKS!!!! IT'S REAL AND SO IS " OUR HEAVENLY FATHER WHO LOVES EACH AND EVERY " 1 " OF US...STAY INSPIRED AND MOTIVATED ; HE WILL NEVER. LET DOWN...PEACE-N- ETERNAL LOVE !!!!
This song has been burned forever into my mind body and soul as it will always remind me of my wonderful carefree childhood. Thank you D Train for this masterpiece
It's a groundbreaking piece of music, defining House 35 years ago and Dance Music today. I still have a 12-minute (or longer) vinyl version sitting in my basement somewhere.
The audio mixing and mastering the musical instrument synthesizer in this song was so incredible and way ahead of its time. Oh James 'D-Train' Williams vocals also.
A legend that can still be heard today, this old school jam is one of the best jams of all time. This classic song is the perfect mix of funk, soul, and beats. It has been sampled by many artists, and has become a timeless classic. It's sure to get you up and dancing.
