These old singers could pass a message easily without so much drama of nudity, fake butts and over exaggerated makeups 💄 because they were not imposters unlike the current generation
I do agree with you. So since they will not play our music on the mainstream, please listen to what we do in the old school way: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nD-ZLygypEg.html
Evelyn, baby, I used to dance to all your music back in Chicago during the '80s. What a blast that was. Miss those dancing days, but still grooving to your music...
Riding my bike with the neighborhood homies, enjoying the sunshine & not a care in the world, summer time on the East side of Aberdeen MD 😁 Washington Park apartments baby😀👍
Same here same age 53. If you can't feel this, one must travel back in time, when things were thing affordable, and before there was were homeless families on the street, a time before we as a people as a nation lost our innocence. You have to have lived in this ERA to truly enjoy. Because if you were we witness the beginning of this technical era. Because back then I didn't listen to music felt it!
OMG Small Fry Please don't leave me out how about June 01 2020 This beautiful classic just move your soul in the right direction Do you agree? When real music speaks for itself timeless indeed 4SURE!! I was so damn lucky to born to experience that awesome era and some AMEN!! MEMORIES WOW!!! I will always have ode skool music in my blood 4EVER!!!
Didn't matter, MTV wasn't going to play Evelyn's music, not a black Funk artist. Michael Jackson's record label had to extort MTV, to play more black artists. BET was out a full year before MTV, so that's where she would have got her video played. Or maybe a television promo spot. But not MTV. @@AEMoreira81
Reggie D. Probably so but I sure took advantage of it while it lasted. The club's was my second home during the 80's especially. I can remember going to clubs at midnight and not leaving till 6 or 7:00 am. Just crazy fun. Miss those days.
In a way yes. Maybe we thought that I would stay forever this way. But no, it “changed”. Thats why we appreciate it so much today.! I’m almost 60. Bless everybody of my generation.! We lived it.!!
Me and Family went and seen her in concert for 2023 Cinco De Mayo. She put it down like always. Oldschool will always be the best. We danced the whole time.
70s, 80s & 90s forever the best times of club music, no matter what genre or style of music, nothing's like the good old days. but musicians, producers, and dj's out there keepin' music still alive.
I was in the grocery store today standing in line and this song all of a sudden came on the overhead speakers and I shouted like a teenage girl "that's my jam right there". The man behind me starting doing the robot dance so I took the woman's hands that was in front of me and we started dancing right there, the cashier let out a "wooooooo". Life was perfect..... even though it was just a short time.... for a few minutes.... it was perfect.
🎉🎉🎉🎉FELLAAAAAAS.....listening still in 24 ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉..unfortunately the younger generation do not know these kinda music......but MY 23 y old son knows 😜🤪😍👌
SAME GREW UP AROUND THE BEST MUSIC MY MOM 1971 and my dad born in 1968 so I was brought up around the good music for sure and proud also so thats good for your son as well BEST MUSIC
I love how when she is singing a line, it seems like the notes start out in the low range, build up to higher notes, then come all the way back down to the lower notes again. Not many songs do that.
Such a classic dance track! Everything is perfect, the bassline, the amazing bridge, the chorus, and most importantly, Evelyn's amazing vocals. Perfect jam.
@@vanthdreadstar8788I think just meant nowadays these old gems get overlooked for more mainstream music! But yes I agree both are talented artists I just personally prefer 80s 😊
And did you do it? I wanna see! I always wanted to learn the choreography for Shalamar 'Friends'.. that cool little spin around. I know Jermaine Stewarts "say it again' moves, lol.
That's why I say kashifs life story would be an easy hit Spike...We get so caught up in thinking that a story will only attract black audiences that we forget the impact that black people have on mon black markets... so much money has been lost ...opportunity cost.... from that fear... I mean foster child grows up to produce some of the biggest stars in his era duh
Rodney Mohammed: Life during these years was NOT with loads of darkness; I remember because I WAS. . .there!! A teenager having LOADS of fun with my friends BUT. . .the dysfunctional environment that was my household, was NO JOKE!! My mother died last year, NEVER knowing/admitting that her 2nd husband was a RAPIST.
I wish I lived in these times. Good dances, Good music, Good appropriate clothing, & No swear words. My generation is so messed up . These good songs need to come back 😭😩.
I'm a Taurus 🐂🐂♉♉♉ I love the classics you can never beat the classics I like waking up blazing a fat blunt and joint and drinking coffee ☕☕☕ Early in the morning
This song always reminds me of when my mom took us the movies to see escape from New York . When we were hungry we stop at a pioneer chicken when this song came on the radio and I never forgot the moment thanks mom for the good times 😎
Me too. It's amazing how fast it takes you back to those fun times. I had driving jobs in Los Angeles, and I knew every song out the time. This was one of my favorites.
@@PocketAces2Start I think this song was produced by the late Kashif. He produced Whitney Houston’s Thinking about you! His sound was unique and amazing!! God bless him in heaven. Evelyn was on DJ Cassidy’s pass the mic! She sang this song and sounds amazing!! ❤️💕
@@bonniedillard640 I turned 18 and after two years of working I got me an 84 Cutlass Supreme three days after my 18th birthday, all I do is play 80s funk, 60s doo wops, and 70s soul, straight Oldies cuz its a lowrider thang
@@Bodyhealthsoul And don't forget "TAP" with the late greats Gregory Hines, Sammy Davis Jr and of course Sandman Simms being directly connected to Kiki Shepherd through the Apollo Theatre.
