Two days after this video, i see local FB posts seems to agitate the "papeymus" ones lol still glad it means its generating traffic and traction for the video :) keep safe everyone!
This one goes also in the field of motorcycles. Nice showing of what means what and how it works. Thanks for sharing bro, keep up the good work just like you always do.
Thanks I really appreciate your videos man. It’s crazy what you guys do in the Philippines. I’m in Chicago illinois. Big k series guy and trying to determine what ratios to go with next and thinking of maybe exploiting a 5 speed trans but making the ratios work. Seems like it’s best to have the next gear to drop into the flat torque area before torque drops off. Love your videos man, your dropping a lot of videos that is super informative
Oh wow thank you chi-town brother!! MAaan you said how you are taking the task on the K gears? Is perfect I mean it’s exactly relatable to how I explained it here… 5spd or 6spd K trans the rpm “pick up” point of the NEXT gear is where it’s at :) To keep the gear changes “fluid” and keep constant push/acceleration good
SRDMotorsportsTV can i ask feedback if installing a 12LBs Lightened Flywheel (competition clutch) to a stock S20 B000 ? good for daily driven and occasional sprints? no problems driving in incline/steep uphills? ty
Actually the problem on incline or steep uphill is a myth because power and torque is generated by the engine The lighter flywheel changes the rpm rate of going up BUT also going down maybe that’s why they said it’s hard to drive but IMO just imagine it’s a motogp bike 😂 I’d always choose a lighter flywheel just the wallet never agreed 🙁
@@salteveline yeah maybe if we heel-toe daily it would be tiring 🤣 but i think its fine IMO theres a bigger change in driving habits from driving a stock clutch to a tri-puck than it is from a stock flywheel vs light flywheel
@@SRDmotorsports I agree. I changed my K24 swapped Civic's flywheel from a stock 16lb RSX flywheel to a 10lb JDM DC5 Type R flywheel and the RPM definitely responds to throttle a bit quicker, but I haven't noticed any downsides. No problems with hills or hill starts even with several passengers and a lot of weight in the car and there's no increase in noise or vibrations.
hi SRDmotorsportsTV thank you so much for educating us re vti/lxi/ph12 tranny, i hav a d16zc s20 b000 tranny, which tranny gear upgrade is better: A) 1st 3.250 stock 2nd 1.909 stock 3rd 1.565 MFactory 3rd 4th 1.125 stock 3rd to 4th 5th 0.702 stock FD. 4.25 stock B) 1st 3.250 stock 2nd 1.909 stock 3rd 1.125 stock 4th 0.909 stock 5th 0.702 stock FD. 4.7 MFactory
B is better any day cuz the gear spacing is correct For me it seems abnormal to have close 1-2-3-4 tapos use stock 5th so u can go to the highway ☺️ They’d say it helps? I disagree cuz the ones I see got stuck in the low 13s for years And went to 12s by turning it into a “racecar” on special fuel 😂 so where there did the gearing help? Hmmm lol mines like B = stock esi I do plan on saving up for a 4.7fd so hopefully soon :)
heyyy! nakita ko ung mangos!!! 🤣 lately fav ko sour mango juice 🤣 green mango blender lng ftw! thanks for checking this out :) improving my edits and i know it gives u ideas din kya win win situation!
Another great content yesssirr!!! Thank you SRD, I was also curious about the S40 LSD tranny ratio any great advise on this for a sohc ph16 engine? Many thanks!
Worth noting here though we discussed it on the SRD page… S20 is a designation for 92-95 / obd1 / 5th Gen S40 is a designation for 96-00 / obd2a/b / Gen6 Both can have an LSD as it was a Honda optional accessory back then when u bought it bnew in Japan (the car) just like some B16a were rarely lsd I share this cuz I saw a random fb post claiming that it’s s40 so it’s LSD?!? It’s not always :) worth noting cuz that random post was from a “buy and sell” dude lol
hahahaha there was one car there i think it was the Amuse rx7 or supra? no matter what u did it was fastest khit you hit a wall... naturally was my fav car but u get it lng as reward near the end hahaha
yes!!! thats my goal on this video to let each one figure out what wrks for their own car and driving style... i believe you saw this because same rpm limit right? so for the same rpm shorter distance reached in total
Check my other video pertaining to that exact situation I measured and counted a VTi ph16a transmission and compared it to an s20 BOOO “short daw” transmission
I hope you watch that video based on what u wrote its exactly why I made that video your vti gears are the same as an s20 and ph12 and esi so called “short” So why waste money
@@SRDmotorsports finally i was enlighten. I was about to buy a ph12 tranny for balasa or s20/s40 trans for a upgrade on my 97 bigote sohc vti for racing purposes. Haha buti nalang i saw ur videos, same lang pala sila. Muntik na nabudol 😅😅 Anyway, What can you suggest for a better upgrade on my tranny. Mfactory 3rd gear? By the way my vti has a b16tb and b16injectors, headers and box. Thank you sir😊
it helps a little... but 45 series 15s is quite hard to find and it will also be a balance of grip because the lower profile tires have stiffer side walls and stiffer sidewalls means it wont conform to the ground easily so less traction on take off its why slicks have wrinkled sidewalls when we launch so it conforms to the ground maximum
@@SRDmotorsports last question sir. I have a sohc esi camgear box headers Is it okay if i put an mfac3rd gear and 4.7 final drive or 4.9? Thankyou very much sir
@@carloflores2944 Mfactory 3rd gear only works with the inverted stock 3rd as ur 4th (u finish 4th gear parang tersera mo) and so adding a 4.7 fd this reminds me of an onboard vid in Clark a sohc bfor finish line let’s go of the throttle about 80ft away… some say “not sagad” but that’s cuz ubos na 4th (na dating 3rd kase) wala pa finish line The Mfactory 3rd is good with inverted 3rd as 4th IF kasama Mfactory 5th Pra dikit dikit lahat But why they don’t? Kase mahirap sa nlex 5th mo that close hehehe pangit sa long drive So just a 4.7 on ur current esi gears is perfect na
I guess mas ok to get gears from MTM since he can outright make you a custom one for almost the same price as an MFactory? Granted you have a dyno sheet to base it out on hehe. Still haven't tried my 20" tire sa BRC or CIS :( soon hopefully.. 1-2nd gear felt good though..
true on MTM gears but also there are limits like we both know "ratio" is divided onto both teeth gears? meaning... physically impossible to get 1.370 third gear sa sohc etc etc but yeah MTM gives us that freedom Me il stick to my ph12 MAYBE one day MTM frst gear extension or MF since similar price naman or heck final drive nlng done deal na hahaha but then final drive is less importance when there is a 20" option na eh
@@SRDmotorsports Would be a fun experiment to find a stock civic and run this compared to stockies, or ones with the common 195/55/15-195/50/15 haha.. Sana magkaroon ng drag testing day this year..
@@mikodelacruz yes on too low so "no to stance" kidding hahaha it is a significantly smart choice i mean heck even M&H slicks have 20" 23" 24.5" and bigger for me the reason id consider a 4.7fd ? is not cuz its better but its because for me to want that? means eventually the sohc will be strong enough to power down the line on 4.7 fd and 24.5" slicks 🤣 bisi style lol
or better yet since our 195/55/15 is 23.7" id run a 23" MH slicks if i had a 4.7fd granted the sohc engine can take advantage of it IF it makes power? oh man... that would run good times lol
Playing with a dragy brought me here 140whp ZC on full interior 23inch tires, only got 16.03s on a quartermile and been receiving alot of advise to change my 3rd gear (stock vti tranny) or the final drive, well, what can i expect? 😂😂😂
no need to change 3rd gear or final drive What is ur current transmission? Looks like u have a Lxi a000 tranny? what is your 60ft on the 16.03 Way too many slower than faster na nka 3rd gear or final drive one thing in common is they all spend a lot of money 😂
A friend of mine tuned a stock vti with proper vti tranny na B000 Last time in Motul but carbon door and hood 15.1sec stock vti engine and stock transmission Malabo nasa 140 un vti lng un
Oh yeah you need to put alot of good money to hear those good sounding close gear😂😂😂 60ft - 2.45 0-100 - 8.4s For the trap its 139@1/4 mile Well, could it be with the powerband of the tune? My engine peaks at 6900rpm and 5200 for the torque, not really sure really hard to reach the 15s
@@elijahcarmona8487 a fast sohc with ph12/vti gears sound as good btw 😂 just like an SiR with stock tranny not all siR nka typer tranny to sound good or go fast 😂
I’m not sure our local has a code but On the spot where u put the axle? The circumference of the housing has a code it should be B000 to be a vti because LXi is A000
@@sharmainecastillo3446 ah yes p20 is ph12 the gears are the same just the internals such as “gear selector” Ph12 is aluminum and vti is steel but not interchangeable However the gear ratio = identical so atleast the vti u got has good gears
@@sharmainecastillo3446 ah yes the shop page link is my fb page I’m the only one who manages it… Here or there u can ask anything related to these stuff
oh man i really want that mfactory but there is another option with 1.364 3rd gear and 1.040 4th gear from whoppee doo racing but it’s probably best to finish off the engine first then build the transmission based on how the powerband is i’m more of a hillclimb/marilaque type guy which is why i was leaning on mfactory anyways december pa naman yung target for stage 3 cam, intake manifold, etc. so transmission would probably be next year’s puzzle great video as always!
@@findtherightbeat current cam the Bisimoto Level 2.x which is the same cam used in that dynosheet got lucky and was able to buy it back from the cebu owner years later thanks to Edwin owner of Rurex ftw
locally for us thats a ph12? ofcourse yes i believe the carb specialist i know still has his shop open so in cases that the carb needs expert care i bring to him but most of the time we get to work it easy as i do and like VW beetles too and lotsa webers 🤣
