There's a knife sold as 'Omesio Neck Knife' on Amazon with the same Neckmuk blade shape but a less-guiding handle. There's another similar one from 'SDOKEDC', with either a black or an orange handle. Anyway, thanks for the detailed review and the discussion of steel attributes and purposes.

Personally I prefer Aus 8 or one of the CR MOV steels with a good heat treatment over D2. I have a couple of D2 knives and my Aus 8 and Aus 10 knives outperform them all around. Personally, I don't care much for D2, D1 or 52100 with a good heat treat are better choices, IMO. 'Ve had the QSP Neckmuck for over a year now and it's an excellent all around, general purpose outdoors blade that is good at a lot of things but great at nothing in particular. It does need a reprofile and good sharpening out of the box. I don't much care for the D2 steel but they did a pretty good job with this one for a budget blade, much better than my KA-Bar Dozier in D2. I don't care for the Sea Snake at all, for outdoors use anyway. For edc or self defense, it's decent enough. The steel is a bit disappointing. Edge retention is lacking, IMO.
I personally don't care how much a knife costs or what steel it is, if its budget and is a good knife, i'll appreciate it and treat it and maintain it as well as an expensive knife

Hallo Lukas, witzig... ich mache mir auch sehr viel Gedanken über Stahlsorten. Und das ist der Grund, warum ich mir irgendwie auch wenige Gedanken mache😂😉 Ich weiß schon... ist paradox. Vielleicht erkläre ich das mal zu einem anderen Zeitpunkt. Nur so viel... mir wird da eigentlich zu viel Aufhebens um Stahlsorten gemacht. Aber Stahl wird immer ein heißdiskutiertes Thema in der Szene bleiben. Ich mag den D2, auch wenn mir klar ist, dass man hier bei der Wärmebehandlung viel falsch machen kann. Und mir ist auch klar, dass D2 nicht gleich D2 ist. Rost... na ja. Ab und an mal pflegen schadet auch bei einem Budget Knife nicht. Ich hatte in Bezug auf Rost seltsamerweise noch keine Probleme mit dem D2. Das Neckmuk hat eine besser gemachte Designanleihe. Und zwar ohne Fingergrooves und mit 440C Stahl. Es handelt sich um das POCRROP. Ich kann es nur empfehlen. Meiner Ansicht nach, fällt es auch vom gleichen Band, wie das Neckmuk. Und es ist etwas günstiger. Das Seasnake kenne ich auch. Stahl ist nicht so wichtig wie viele denken, würde ich sagen. Meiner Meinung nach ist es immer Geometrie, Wärmebehandlung, Schneidfase und dann Stahl. In dieser Reihenfolge. Die anderen sind von Nöten, damit der Stahl zur Geltung kommt. Andersherum macht es halt keinen Sinn, die Eigenschaften können nicht richtig entfaltet werden. Deswegen: kein D2 in Messern die bei der Wärmebehandlung sparen. Rost mäßig hatte ich auch nie großartige Probleme mit D2. Meinte ja nur, ein budget Messer nehme ich, verwende es, tu es wo hin, vergesse drauf, weniger Pflege ist mir daher lieber. Das ist natürlich bei jedem anders. Ist natürlich immer meine Sicht ;) Voll habe dein Video dazu gesehen, wäre interessant welches zuerst da war. Weißt du zufällig ob es das noch gibt irgendwo? @@megaronknives3032 Das Neckmuk war definitiv zuerst da. Habe einen Kommentar unter dem Video angehängt. Es gibt zwei Hersteller, die beim großen A das identische Messer vertreiben. Das Poccrop war damals nach dem Video ausverkauft. Das andere dürfte es noch geben.
