My friend Eric owns Raven Fabrication in Spokane, WA and I’ve personally have seen some of their custom 80k plus builds in person. The work I’ve watched you do so far on RU-vid, is on par with them. After everything is done on your truck, you’ll easily have the best looking and performing Hardbody truck out there. You’re definitely building my dream truck! The only thing I would change would be the engine, but I understand why you went with that engine. Best of Luck with the remaining of the build.
Yooooo I have that same nrg short hub sitting in my cart right now at $91 you always come in clutch for me I was going to buy it tomorrow hahaha koyostar 140h here I come!!!!
'2020 has been an absolute kick in the nuts' ain't that the truth. Watching this build takes my mind off the fact I got no chance of getting those control arms for my project 😔
Honestly, this setup is entirely overkill to begin with. You can have just as much fun with far fewer modifications. My little green D21, "Gus", before this truck was a blast to drive and it was a very basic setup.
Yeah, a mini notch is going to be a must. I was just going to take some 4" - 4.5" DOM and cut it to size, then cut down the middle on both sides and just weld it into the frame where the axle would travel.
Wow man the truck looks so good! Congratulations! Jacob from Rhode is awesome man! He and you are the reasons I bought a Hardbody again. Why the solid mounting of the cab to the frame? Is it necessary for what you want the truck for? The brake setup looks amazing btw. Merry Christmas to you and your family and hope all is well.
Thanks! Yeah, solid mounts are necessary for my setup. The cage, tubular front, and bed cage are all going to be integrated. The use of the stock rubber mounts would just make the center of the truck "shifty" when I need it to be solid. Yeah, his shipping was insanely fast. The quality is great too. Very pleased. Happy Holiday's!
Is looking awesome man! I’m trying to do the same on my hardbody but with a k24 swap! Question.. where I can get all the suspension component are you using on this build?
I'd try looking on Facebook Marketplace and local (to you) Nissan/240sx/drifting Facebook groups first. If there are no listing, a simple, "Does anyone have an SR20 for sale? Cash in hand" post will usually do the trick. Right now they are stupid expensive from importers. All engines and transmissions are. If you can't find anything locally, I'd hold out until importers are not having such a hard time getting engines and transmissions over here.
