The DOOR SOUNDS!! Best feeling hearing that, knowing you’re about to walk into that badass ride. Ugh I’d be pressing that button so much outta nostalgia, it’d break.
So odd that they put all this incredible detail in but have the sequences out of order. Not a deal breaker necessarily, but seems like something they could have easily enough worked out. Thanks for sharing, and congrats on getting this piece. No doubt the best Star Wars vehicle produced to date.
This was MY childhood dream toy too, but I'm only just nkw hearing about it amd they're all gone. At least I can see everything here, thanks for that. 😁
Looks like an awesome toy and I wish I had known beforehand that it was going to be available online. Great video showing all the features. It was bittersweet hearing Pee Herman's voice.
I once rode the original back in 1997! It was an awesome experience! Since I live beyond the Atlantic I have yet to see the new Star Tours (of it even still exists) and Galaxy‘s Edge.
This is 1000 times more improved than the orange version I had about ten years ago. I sold it because I really just wanted a vintage one. On the old version, there is no digital screen. It's plastic cards. No extra spot near Rex, but you can pull out 3p0's chair and insert a Rex figure. This is so much better and because it is so limited, I'm sure I will end up paying way too much for it. If I can find one. Great review!
I really hope they do a wide release of this. One question though, do the standard sized figures fit in the seats? That would make a neat way to display some of the more modern 3 3/4" figures.
I purchased the Haslab Razorcrest for $350. It came with 3 figures ( the Mandalorian, Grogu, and a Jawa) a stand, an escape pod, and 4 carbonite blocks. There were no electronics of any kind. This thing having legitimate video screen for your figures to enjoy is ridiculously dumb and cool at the same time. Is it worth $300? Well, it does more than the Razorcrest so I’d say you get your money’s worth at least.
Tried to get this online, but no luck. Thanks for the review! May have to get one from secondary market sometime, I totally agree it's worth $300... and beyond.
This ride is how I got introduced to Star Wars as a kid in the 90's, watched the original trilogy on TBS soon after that and was obsessed until I was massively disappointed with The Force Awakens. Would've paid good money for it if it played the entire show with the music and all. They dropped the ball big time. Could've been perfect.
This is the most nearly perfect Star Wars toy to have ever been released by Disney in a long time. I remember I used to own the small version of the starspeeder 3000 sold at Disneyland when they had the ride. The moment I heard that cabin jingle whenever the door opened, I had the biggest grin on my face. The biggest issue about this has to be the movie being played. Having it broken into clips and then not placing them in the right order is a pet peeve. The changes I would want is that the movie should be played in full. Even if it's an edited version, without the score, I would've preferred that over misplaced clips. The second thing I would change is that rather than having a cockpit shield that pops off, I would have a screen and slides up and down like it does in the ride. Other than a few nitpicks, this is definitely a really cool playset for any die-hard Star Wars and Disneyland fans. I hope they re-release it. It would make a fine addition to my collection.
My big wish is that they release a wider number soon that is a little different than this set, possibly the ride sequence in the correct order, maybe only add the loose figures and no numbered carded figure, possibly a bit more weathering on the vehicle. 💪🤓 what's your thoughts on a re-release?
I think it will get a re-release; I noticed the RX figure is numbered and not the Starspeeder, so maybe that means they will release just the Starspeeder at the parks but not include RX; you'd probably have to buy him separately. But that's just my guess.
@geekstrong1 If they do a re-release, they'll have to make something about it different. If it's the same, it negates the limited edition-ness of this release. I imagine the easiest way to do that is to not include Captain Rex. (Sold separately) Or not include the display stand. The cost of production might be a factor in its limited run. With a hefty price tag, I don't foresee a wider re-release happening in the near future. Unless I'm underestimating the demand.
Really nice review! What I like most is that it's literally the ride. I wish the video sequence issue wasn't a deal, and it would be great to have it powered on but have the screen off so that over time there's no risk of burn_in from being on display.
I've been waiting to see this thing action!!! I think Disney finally gave the fans what we've been asking for decades ago. This is the definitive Starspeeder playset and they didn't pull any punches on it. Obviously, there's a lot of attention to detail within this beauty and thank God they did their homework. Glad they kept the chime whenever you open the doors, although I was disappointed that only the left side opens via button while the right is manually, but I get what you said about what they're trying to mimick for the OG ride. Interesting that you get two Captain RX's in the packaging cause I thought it was only one. But, of course the video screen will grab every fan's attention cause we miss the OG ride. And yeah, while cutting the ride does make sense, but placing the scenes out of order is very strange. Plus, having the lights sync up with the film was a nice touch. Overall, this is a great improvement over the Starspeeder 1000 playset from 2011-2012. Don't get me wrong, I loved it when it first came out and that was as close as we're gonna get until today. But Disney probably looked back on what they did for the 1000, applied and plussing of what they could do for the 3000 and in the long run it works perfectly. If they make the 1000 like this in the future then I really love to see it.
This is AWESOME! How did I miss out on this? I hope they re-issue it. This is what I think of when I think of a Haslab. Did Hasbro have any part in this if not, Hasbro needs to step up their game.
This thing is pretty amazing. An actual video screen in the toy, and the light up affects wow. Curious how it looks like with figures sitting in the seats.
Oh wow. I had no idea these were so huge. The sculpted details are outstanding on this. I'm all in on the Black Series 6 inch scale, which of course this would be too big to make for. But wow. This is so good. I hope they make the modern version too with all these details. I like both. All the lights and sounds are so far beyond what I ever expected. "Here's where the fun begins" it was already insanely fun. Haha. The fact that it has the entire ride on the screen is so dang cool it made my eyes water. The fact that the cabin lights match the video is OUTSTANDING. The lack of music really really bothered me. It feels so off without it. Besides the videos being out of order, that music is a HUGE part of the experience of that ride to me. Now, if this had been the modern ride, where the sequences are actually random ON the ride, this random sequence would have made some sense. But with this one it's really odd. Love that you get to hear Paul Reubens doing his thing. Also, really wish there was either a headphone jack or bluetooth to play the audio on speakers that are better than the built in one. And finally, maybe I missed it, but was there no way to do lights with no sound at all? Sometimes it's nice to appreciate the lights without bothering people in the home with you.
Fantastic review 💪😎 I feel thr price is very fair for what you get considering hasbros Haslabs cost more and they have no electronics or extra loose figures.
It is a shame that all the videi files weren't included, but to be honest, I'm happy with what did make the cut. Makes me qant to get a bunch of o-ring GI Joes figures for it, even though I don't collect 3.75" figures. I don't even have this set, and I'm already thinking about setup's for it, lol! 🤣
the real only flaw see is that the video buttons should have been put on the rear of the shuttle, like using the thrust engines for buttons and used the pane( where the buttons are now) should be the speaker.
at 5:13, the top of the "roof" isn't supposed to open up. It was just packaged separately for logistical reasons. You're supposed to snap it in place and leave it there.
@LaurenceQuint It is supposed to open up. The instructions tell you how and include a photo. It's also not packaged separately. You can see it attached when I unbox the Starspeeder.
How strange that the sequences are out of order. Seems like a programming bug. And it’s amazing how the whole show seems kind of “empty” without the score.
been waiting YEARS for one of these! my only gripe is the cannons, they're not part of the 3000, only the 1000 model. so this is clearly done to later down the line do the 2011 ver. interesting that they've used isolated sfx for the attaraction footage, and not with the music. The random order is most likley so this can play the 2011 attraction footage without issues, since it was randomized, unlike the 1987 ver.
@ViewpointProd yeah, I figured since it was a feature on the Starspeeder 1000 toy, they just replicated it here. I'd understand if this was a repurposed and repainted version of that toy, but this is a new design, so including them is an odd choice.
@@JohnCarlosMcMaster like i said, its cear that, This is for the 37th anniversary, So get that out the door, but make sure the tooling can accomotate *both* versions of the SS
Controversial opinion this looks like it’s worth $300 looks a lot better than the Starspeeder 1000 that they made years ago wish I had the chance to get it before it went out of stock
Odd that Disney put all the electronics in yet Haslab toys cost just as much with no electronics. The Razor Crest was nice on it's own but the electronics would have taken it to another level.
That sticker at 2:00 is just a wind up. Why the heck stick it there over a printed logo ?? 5:18 Maybe you could store the cables/leads in that compartment ?
This is how i pictured toys in the future as a kid !!! The merge of modern technology and plastic !!! I have no clue why people have a problem with the price ...300 is cheep for this !!!
I wish the star speeder moved with scenes Thts what I thought the stand was for lol I rm a long time ago when Disneyland sold a smaller version at the parks and got it it was so much fun to play with
I purchased mine from D23 and it worked for less than 24hrs. 1st video stopped working then audio next were the lights and now it’s doesn’t even turn on. Item is sold As Is and no exchange or refund, but I negotiated with D23 guest relations and that’s all I will say. Good luck to those who also own this. I have seen others with similar issues and hope others have better luck than I did. Definitely will not buy this again with how quickly it failed.
*Disney's pathetically and desperately trying to play on our nostalgia.. I think they finally realized no one wants their fanfiction trash. We would rather buy a replica of a shitty shuttle made for a 3D ride* 🤣🤣
