D335 Ticking Over Shot 1 

Thanks Farmer, getting these old English Electrics to start can be difficult at times and so you have to appreciate all the work that goes into keeping the two CFPS machines going. Its a miracle, so thanks to Dave Peacock for his engineering skills that help keep these heavyweights running.

john, this is sill one of very many best shots that you have,i dont think that there is a better shot of a D335 firing up ready for a days work. keep up your good work with keeping the old girls running.

Thanks farmertrg, glad you like this one. The CFPS now have a shed fund to secure space for their two locos inside the new ELR diesel shed that is being built in the near future so they can be preserved in luxury. This Castlecroft image will then be a thing of the past. John Wantling, Rochdale, UK

Thanks Froobyone. There was a lot of diesel fumes being generated on this shot and I am just glad that the wind was not blowing in my direction. I have more ticking over shots on youtube and I hope you have watched them all. They make a change from standard run-by's (the glamour shots) thus showing the Class 40s in a different light, before the power is applied and before they have come to life.

Ticking over is merely a general term meaning running disconnected or idle. In this case the locomotive has just been started from cold so struggling a little until its warmed up a bit. See some of my other videos for similar videos.
