It’s a step from most of what we hear regularly. Whether it be anime, a cartoon, or a game. You’ll cringe every now and then from hearing some voice acting. Here the voice acting cringe is almost nonexistent.
Wait, did Solas just openly admit that he visited Dalish in their dreams in his Dread Wolf form?! Because I couldn't think of any other reason they would attack him out of *superstition* !
Kristian Bailey Just like everything else Solas says... But there still is astonishingly little truth-twisting in there for Solas standarts... especially considering that his choice of words is so strange that he opened himself to question he wanted to avoid if anyone would have picked up on that (yes, he would have gotten out of that situation, but it's still uncommon for him to allow that kind of opening in his alibi)
Depending on your dialog choices Solas technically gets his big idea to rip the world apart from the Inquisitor so yeah I'm going to redeem him. I'm going to punch him very hard but I'm definitely going to save him from his own stupidity
Huh... I’ve only had Solas’s early banter commentary on the dalish (and his responses to the varying choices of the Inquisitor’s own responses/questions) trigger before. The others are, at the very least, interesting to hear!
"We could have prevented it." Me: are you telling me you could have prevented the Chantry explosion, Cass? No. No you couldn't have. Not even Hawke could do that and they worked in close proximity to the man. Stop blaming yourself for what you couldn't hope to prevent even if you knew how bad things were getting in Kirkwall. *Me fuming at my computer* The people I have to contend with, GOD!
The flaw in your logic starts with 'not even Hawke'. Hawke is pretty much powerless compared to Cassandra and her 'special Seeker gift', especially if he is a mage. And given Corypheus is covered in lyrium, I dare say Cass could do a lot of damage. Sadly, it can't be implemented in-game, or she will be too OP.
@@TeriiTeri For one, you need to figure out what it is the person you're replying to wrote, before doing so. I never said Cass will beat Cory, I said Cass will be a dozen times more effective than some random dude people praise for 0 reason. For two, your assumptions are just that. Assumptions. And in some cases contradict the current lore. Ancient Tevinter's magic was still heavily based on the usage of lyrium (as noted in the story of the Magisters' fall), and Cass 'Seeker gift' revolves around exactly that. Why it would suddenly 'not work' is beyond me. Also, Tevinter's 'most powerful' a fuckton years ago is never confrimed to be 'more powerful than modern'. Progress is a thing.
@@TeriiTeri Agressive. Oh boy, it seems nowadays the Internet forgot the meaning of this word. At any rate, the arguments are there, and, jokes on you, you're saying nothing.
Yes ffs, she as a Seeker of truth could have prevented it. If she actually bothered to 1 investigate the unrest in Kirkwall 2 help mages and not try to "protect people from the mages"- in general not just in Kirkwall. But as all chantry followers, Seekers are only "interested" in circles when its time to kill mages there, they dont care about the mages themselves, they only care about 'everyone else' around. What f*cking great work WAS she doing as a Seeker? She's stupid as a rock, she bought 90% of what Varric said to her anyway. Sniffing around trying to find some blood mages, sitting on her ass, repeating the chant is all she seems good for just like Elthina and her flock. Yeah if anyone is guilty here, its an organization that should have been wathcing over the templars and the circles. But they completely ignored the templars and were only watching mages "behaving" . Reaping what they sow. Cassandra might be a "good person", but good person isnt a line of work. And as a Seeker of truth, she's a failure.
I've played this alot. I've never heard most of that. The stuff by the 3 demons and Varric asking if you're innocent. And I have walked all over the place and stood in one place for more than 15 minutes. I have the Game of the Year Edition for Xbox one does that make a difference?
If a banter happens in vanilla every 15 minutes, then that's probably the reason why you haven't heard them. I've only heard the one with the dalish and that's cuz I wandered over to the far left to kill 3 demons. There are mods and other stuff to speed banters so you can hear it all.
If I'm not mistaken, these happen in prologue section of the game only (though I think that I have hear Varric mentioning book stabbing in the main section of the game).
@@Ruosteinenknight The one you mean is Cassandra asking if Hawke still signs books with Varric asking "Didn't you tear yours apart ?" (or something like that.)
This is obviously in the beginning of the game. How come they took it out (or it doesn't trigger)? I've played a billion times and never heard this set of lines. I always wondered why the Inquisitor doesn't ask Varric how he and Cassandra know each other.
I remember most of this from the prologue, where you have to choose one of two paths to get to that boss fight with the demon. I believe you only get it if you choose one of the two paths.
Apart from the last exchange (talk of the dalish with Solas) I never triggered any of the others. Any info on how to do get them? After the battle with demons in which the damned tactical camera set itself for the first time, I turn left across the ice and up the stairs where other 3 demons are, the place with the life ward amulet, when I comeback down from there the only banter I ever get is the one with Varric about the player races (human, dwarf, qunari) or the Solas chat about the dalish. Never got any other chat, ever. Is there somewhere specific I must do/say/go to? Or is this cut content?
When you are heading towards the breach the first time wander around and explore eventually the solas conversations regarding elves will come up for a elf
@@TheAzuregreen Yeah.. you're right, i was rude, I'm sorry. It's just that "explore" is so vague. I've explored a lot, especially the first tutorial-like area, and nothing else other than the convo I mentioned ever popped up.
@@KainObreron i wish i could be more specific but dragon age inquisition is a bit broken when it comes to party banter, i feel like it takes ages for any conversation to start unlike origins
Isn't all of this in the prologue before you even get to Haven like right at the start of the game where you choose to take the more dangerous but quicker route vs the rout with the solidiers where more may die? Like this is the game's starting party.
I must have played the prologue at least 25 times and this is all new to me. I've finished the game several times and won all the challenges and the trials and there's still stuff I don't know?
I remember getting this banter during the beginning of the game during the prologue when you mean varric ans solas for the first time. I then head left where i fought these demons and when i turn back to head for the chantry the banter appears and is unique to each race
Just linger around. Also, after your first encounter with demons as a full party, you're supposed to go right on the stairs - if you go straight on there's a bunch of demons and the origins-specific banter triggers. Most of the times is Varric pointing out stuff about you or your accent, Solas intervenes only on an elven character.
Oh, OK... so... Solas hurts Cassandra on top of what took place at the end of the main game *and* during Trespasser?! *Oh, I can't wait to crack that egg and make omelette come DA4*
Solas: None of this explains how that mark was acquired however Cassandra: She claims not to remember Solas: And you do not believe that Cassandra: it is too convenient Solas: Sometimes the mind buries what it cannot endure Cassandra: And sometimes the guilty lie *sigh* let us press onwards Varric: With all these demons why haven't you called for help? Cassandra: We were delayed in Kirkwall Varric: By delayed, she means we were interrogating the dwarf Solas: A fortunate delay, considering it saved your lives Cassandra: There was nothing fortunate about it! If you've been there we could've...this might all have-- Varric: You really want to torture yourself with what ifs Seeker? Cassandra: No, I want justice Player: why would you ask her that? Solas: it was a simple question Cassandra: it is a question Leliana and I will ask ourselves for the rest of our lives, I assure you Solas: I apologize, I did not mean to cause you pain Player: So you and Cassandra know each other? Varric: You could say that...she stabbed my books Cassandra: I did no such thing! Varric: She questioned me then dragged me here to give evidence at the Conclave Cassandra: Which means you are now free to go Varric: You ever get the feeling you're not wanted? Player: Why do you call her "Seeker"? Varric: Because that's what Cassandra is: a Seeker of Truth, a sort of Templar. Didn't she tell you? I bet they didn't even introduce themselves properly or mention who all these soldiers are Cassandra: the prisoner is accused of a terrible crime Varric: and yet you want her help unless you just decided to take her out and show her the sights Player: so who are they then? Varric: Cassandra and Leliana were the right-hand and left-hand of the Divine respectively, they were the Divine unofficial agents, doing things like gathering these soldiers Player: for what purpose? Solas: the Templar order was once the Chantry's army but it abandoned them to hunt mages, a replacement was needed Cassandra: it is more than that Varric: so she claims, clearly the Divine had something in mind for them Cassandra: let's move on Player: what do you know of the dalish? Solas: I have wondered many roads in my time and crossed paths with your people on more than one occasion Player answer 1: What do you mean by "crossed paths"? Solas: I mean that I offered to share knowledge, only to be attacked for no greater reason than their superstitions Player answer 2: we're both of the same people Solas Solas: the dalish I met felt differently on the subjects Player answer 3: then you know us well enough to be careful Solas: well enough to be suspicious Varric: can't you elves just play nice for once? Cassandra: there it is, Maker's Breath Varric: huh, unbelievable isn't it? Solas: so much waste, such destruction Varric: hard to accept this could really happen
That's incorrect, he wants to restore the elves before they were enslaved to humans. The land of The das belonged to the Elves. He only wishes to bring down the veil that is a barrier between the world's. The destruction you speak of would be of the leftover Evanuris and the remaining blights, which is inevitable to began with. If anything Solas was giving warning of an impending threat and to be prepared him/her drawing the inquisitor so he could save them and so they would learn what's to come. If he was a monster he would have informed the inquisitor and let him/her simply die from the mark.
I think he's upset about losing his power and for that power to ONLY destroy. While Solas want to "end the world", it's not because he is A crazy wack job who happenstanced himself into immense old elven god power. He's a man trying to undo his mistakes. Mistakes that were meant to free his people, only to Dream walk thousands of years and watch helplessly as his people Inevitably find themselves in chains again, but worse off. As Varric puts it "but I like the stories where the villain was the man beside you the whole time. The best villains don't see themselves as evil. They're fighting for a good cause, willing to get their hands dirty."
