DAB-DX 2023: Confirmed meteor scatter reception/lock of a DAB+ station - Perseid meteor shower/ QIRX

FINALLY, maybe 1st time ever, DAB-radio locked via METEOR SCATTER !
- RX: Airspy-Mini and QIRX (licenced) software
- Antenna: 13-el vertically polarized VHF-III yagi at 48 m above sea level
- Conditions: Perseid meteor shower on 12th of August, 2023
- Distance: over 800 km (Germany - South-West coast of Finland)
A German DAB+ radio station transmitting on channel 5C, possible TX-station candidates are;
1. Garz (Rügen) 5C & 8B (V-pol, 5 kW)
2. Zussow 5C. 5D & 8B (V-pol, 4 kW)
3. Casekow 5C, 5D & 10B (V-pol, 5 kW, 5 kW & 10 kW)
4. Templin 5C & 10B (V-pol, 10 kW & 5 kW)
5. Röbel 5C & 10C (V-pol, 5 kW)
6. Prizwalk 5C, 5D & 10B (V-pol, 5 kW, 5 kW & 10 kW)
7. Rostock 5C, 5D & 11B (V-pol, 2,5 kW).png

Congratulations Koe on unlocking the potential of DAB+ Mux is achieved via MS :) This shows that MS is capable of reflecting around 180 MHz. Cheers and thanks for sharing buddy 73!

MS is sure capable to reflect signal up to 432 MHz, many radio-amateurs make contact at 432 MHz

Thank you for an exellent comment! By murphy's law (as it can be seen in the video), all the other three meteor clips in this video (QIRX GUI is flashing "recording") were also simultaneously saved to a raw-file (so I can replay/-analyze them), but the last successful one (the part where the signal momentary locked) was not, that was just saved as a live screen recording. But I have many hours of raw QIRX-recordings from last night, if there would be some other successful DAB-MS-burst, that I could replay for the Tll, let's hope so! 73's from holmch 🙂

@@koekone No such luck .... I hope you find another decoded MS signal on your recordings. I also use QIRX (4.0.9), it's really an excellent software! From the Alps, I haven't noticed any MS signal last night, even on FM. 73 from Savoie province, close to Switzerland.
