🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊😊 This is the best thing EVER. I really hope DAC not only continues to do this but also gives the option with all of their older kits. I think it is a GREAT idea.

Love that they made the drill shape a choice! I would love to see both these kits completed and compared side by side.

I like that it takes the guess work out of it, since the finish is going to look great in either shape. So it really just comes down to personal preference.

This is huge and amazing and I love this. There have been so many times i've looked at a kit and gone "if only it was released in x drills" I really hope this takes off and DAC brings this in for all there past, present & future kits

I think its incredible that they released it in round and square! I need to fill up my square side of my stash and I'm enjoying squares more recently so I was so happy to get to choose square as a lot of puffygator is rounds 😂 I also love how they did it, making the round a bit larger so it should be having same amount of detail etc!

This is awesome. Genius idea to do everything the same and just adjust for drill size. I don't like rounds and have stopped buying round drill kits so I'm so happy at the prospect of getting a choice so I don't miss out on artwork that I love but are not squares.

I love that Diamond Art Club is offering a choice and I hope that they do this for all their future kits. I personally would buy more as I prefer round kits.

Good evening Katie, I think it depends on which type of drill you started Diamond Painting with. I started with round. But, found I work with square drills as long as I don't obsess on each drill. So, I most likely would go with round. I think this is a great idea Diamond Art Club is doing. I hope they decide to do more canvases with both round or square drills. Have a wonderful evening.

I love the option! I would pick depending on the subject matter and size. Something like a cartoon I might do both just for fun!

Great review, Katie! Very comprehensive. I'm very pleased that the drill shape choice is being offered on a trial basis. Just like you said, the drill shape preference for me will vary from kit to kit. The round drill images look quite pixelated and draws my eyes away from the overall picture, and also diminishes my pleasure with what I've spent so much time completing. Granted, if I'm not viewing the finished picture close up, I would not be as concerned. But having the option would be wonderful. As others have mentioned, I would be very interested to see both once they're completed to get a comparison. Thank you again, Katie, and thank you DAC for being so considerate to your customers!

I think it is gorgeous. I think I like squares for the paintings that are really, really detailed but this one and ones similar in detail I would do in round. I like the idea of being able to choose.

I love that this was available in both shapes! I purchased the round kit. I love both shapes but I have way more square kits than round and have been trying to even it out so this was actually perfect for me! ❤ Of course some kits I would like better as square for the detail factor but for a cute little piece like this round works just as well 😊

I am happy that diamond art club made it a choice for the customers to pick if they want round or square that painting looks beautiful in both round and square thank you DAC ya are the best.

I absolutely love that they may begin to offer both there are so many kits that I have seen and think omg I have to get this and then see its round drills 😢 I only do square drills I don't like rounds, so this for me is a huge positive! I really hope they roll it out wider in the future x love this wee kit too love puffy gator art and have been disappointed before that some are only in rounds so I'm over the moon I can get this one 😊 xx

It’s always nice to have choices 😊 personally, I’d like to pick square over round because it can offer more details at the same canvas size. But it’s totally fine that DAC does it this way, it will double the work for them if they choose to do it the “regular “way. ❤

I am just starting Diamond Painting this year! I have done just enough to fall in love! I have bought around 25 kits from DAC! I have decided I prefer the square diamonds because I think they look better when finished and you can not see the canvas under the diamonds! I like both just prefer square! So I love having the choice!!! Love your videos thank you!

I think it’s so cool that they made the rendering exactly the same for both kits. I know for other companies, it’s been my experience where if I want to do rounds, I feel like I’m sacrificing clarity or the rendering. But DAC solved that problem! I agree with you that I’d choose shape based on the kit and how I’m feeling at the time. I enjoy working with both shapes and I need a variety in my life.

Hi Katie! Love your channel and look forward to each video. Your voice is calming and comfortable to me and I am usually working on a painting while I watch and listen. 🥰 It’s so nice to have drill shape choices. I see it on many other company websites and get used to being able to select. I’m like you and think it depends on the subject artwork as to which shape I would choose. I tend to go square on most of the old masters type paintings and other what I call ‘serious’ subject matter. Otherwise, I go round on fun subjects. I absolutely love this and would probably take the square, but it depends on the subject.

I prefer square but I buy based on the image. If I like it I'll get it regardless of shape. However I know so many people will only do one or the other. So I think it's great that DAC is trying this out for those who miss out on their favorites because of diamond shape

I’d choose round. I end up with more squares so far because I like the detailed artwork, but I’d usually choose round if I had an option because I find them more relaxing.

love this idea. Really interesting to see an exact comparison on the square vs round canvas using the same charting. I shall be getting the square one, it's slightly smaller in size and I need more squares in my stash. more images will be dependant on the image

Thank you for showing an up close comparison of the canvases. As a new DP, I was finding it difficult to discern because some areas would have square outlines, but I would have round drills in my kit. I wasted some money (by ordering square drills), but you live and learn. 🤭

Those look so great! Personally I like working with Squares more so I’d choose those; however I’m lazy and like when DAC picks the diamond shape for me. Less decisions I have to make. But I’m happy with wherever they go with this.

I'm so happy that they're giving us the choice! Sometimes I'll see an artwork on DAC that feels like it'd suit squares more, but it's in rounds, which can be a pretty big bummer, but this is so great! I really hope this test run does well and we get more kits (and maybe even older kits?! 🤔) with the choice to choose!

I like having a choice, I am fairly new to Diamond painting so I prefer the round drills. Also I like the larger symbols on canvas.

I do like that they are trying this. However, as a newbie, I did like that the size was predetermined so I didnt have to figure out what would look good. I do trust DAC that both shapes will look great so that helps. Also I am broke this week so hopefully it is not limited edition. This was the only kit this week that was screaming my name...lol Thank you Katie for all you do!

I love squares. I like that it's smaller. I, however, love that they offered it this way to have so they are rendered with the same detail. That's great.

This is cool! I love rounds and squares both, so I think if I were debating which to get, I might go with whatever I have better enhancement drills for, if it were a design that I’d want to bling up.

I think this is a great idea. I only do squares, but sometimes there is artwork I like but it only comes in rounds. If there were both options, it would be great (but maybe not for my wallet!)

I feel the same, would depend on the subject of the painting and if I was looking for an easier round drill one for a change. My preference would be square drills but it really is great for people that may not get on so well with square drills (children too) to have the chance to get it in rounds.

This is so interesting! I think I’d pick round. Most times I pick square to ensure good details but since the round drill field is bigger to accommodate those details I’d rather do round and get it done quick!

I lean toward square on most canvas but I do know that a lot of people prefer round and it would be nice for them to be able to have this option.

I think it’s awesome that DAC is going to start giving you a choice between round and square. There are so many people that prefer one over the other. I myself don’t really care; I’ll buy it if I like it regardless of the shape of drills. But I know there are many that definitely prefer rounds or squares. So it’s great there is now an option. Hopefully, this turns out well and they continue to roll this option out.

Hello, I really like this idea. If you like square, then you can do square. If not, then choose the round. I prefer square kits over round because I like the solid look better. and the sound they make when placing them. But, I will choose a round kit once in awhile. This is a great idea for everyone. If you like a kit but it’s not the drill you want, You can still purchase it because you have that choice of drill shape.

I now like both but what I see to me anyway it looks more clear with the round drills.

I love this option! I ordered mine in squares because the exposed glue on rounds squicks me out so I never buy them. 😂 I know there's a lot of people who have strong preferences like myself, for one reason or the other, so it's very exciting!

I love this idea!! I wish they offered the iron man painting in rounds (I have chronic pain and squares are harder for me to work with) I want it sooooooo bad!!!!!

I absolutely love the drill shape choice :D there's a company here in Australia that does that. I prefer square because it seems more detailed and takes longer. I've only been doing it for a month, yet I got addicted on day one lol. Thank you for explaining the magnet! i thought it was a fridge magnet gift type of thing. Yes, I'm a noob. I have been cutting small sections of the peel off plastic cover so i don't expose all the glue at once. It's workin for me, so the magnet shall remain a fridge magnet :D I'm a new subscriber

If everything is absolutely equal, I definitely would be choosing round. I work on squares as well, it’s just easier on rounds, but I wouldn’t want to compromise the overall beauty of the painting, if it looks better in squares. I will be looking forward to your completed works of these.

This is absolutely BRILLIANT! And Bravo for DAC for making the round kit slightly bigger to match the rendering! I don't know of any other company that is doing this. Most that offer round and square make the kits the same size so you lose detail in the round. THIS is the way it should be done! I will be getting the round kit. ❤

This is amazing! I really hope it works out so that this could become a future standard for DAC. My personal preferences are square drills, and I have to say that in the past I have been heartbroken when a piece of art that I loved wasn't available in my favorite shape to work with. I would love to see RU-vid creators finish up both shaped kits and do a comparison of both of them completed! Thank you DAC, I hope this is a success! ❤

I'll be very interested to see how this works out for them! I definitely strongly prefer square drills, and there have been images I liked that I didn't purchase because they are round. I do sometimes buy them, but I don't enjoy the process as much. So I would always choose square if given a choice. That the canvas will be smaller for the same level of detail is a bonus to me - takes up less wall space :)

I think that's the way it should always be done; that they're exactly the same layout and colors. I can't afford DAC kits, but I think I'd try one with square drills, to see how it is to work with them. I'm only just starting, and the one I started (but didn't finish), and the one I'm working on now use round drills, and I'm not happy about all of the space around them.

It's nice if they offer both but I would choose the one that's easier to read the symbols or numbers. Both I love the tiger or lion cub of the kit.

When I first started buying from DAC in 2018, they had the choice for round, square or round with ABs on most of their kits. There were no square ABs at that time. I am so happy they finally brought this back! It was my biggest issue with DAC and seemed to exclude many buyers from paintings they would otherwise have purchased if offered in the other shape. If they offer all paintings in both shapes, I may never have to buy another round again!

Love that you get to choose between round or square still. Will definitely be going after the square kit.

I'm so happy they are giving us options! I actually prefer square drills and sometimes I don't get a kit if it's in rounds unless I really love the artwork. Hopefully we get this option in the future for all kits!

I love the fact that they didnt sacrifice details in the rounds kits, and that that the render is the same for both. Not sure if these will be the same cost, which would also be amazing if squares didnt cost more bc of rendering quality. One thing i love about DAC is that they really take the guess work out of it, and that every kit is rendered amazingly. I really dont want to sit there an rack my brain in choosing a size and costs being prohibitive. I just want to choose the kit bc I love the artwork, and being able to choose a drill type without worrying about the rendering is amazing! It would be a nice touch to offer the option in some kits where it makes sense to be able to offer either drills and still be in the price ranges that we get with DAC.

I only do rounds if the price is discounted or the image is too cute to resist 😂 Sometimes I feel really bummed if the image is super colorful and a design I’d enjoy; but isn’t available in square drills. So, this could be a great thing!
