Wiz cover art is actually paying homage to David Ruffins album “Gentlemen Ruffin” released in 1980.. it’s literally the same woman lol Wiz just replaced David either way classic cover 🔥🔥🐐
I got respect for other reaction channels, but it’s just something about hearing our people reacting to our music. I fuck with the dynamic of the old head who grew up in funk and soul music getting lessons from the kid who grew up in the culture. Y’all keep going🔥
man this is a classic. i remember going home for the summer after this came out and cruisin around listening to this. Thank you for not doing the version on streaming platforms haha
bro im so jealous of this dude lmao just looked through and hes basically getting to listen to every single all time great album for the first time. god man so many memories and good times for me with all the first times i heard all this stuff and every time i hear it again it all comes back. respect
Krit from Mississippi.. y’all gone stop playing and show that “Krit Wuz Here” some luv.. 2nd request 🙏🏾🙏🏾Your dad would luv him .. Krit produces his own music as well..top tier and heavily underrated
How Fly is another mixtape you and your pops should check out for sure, thanks for this it was super dope. (Just listening to your last points about the passion involved when creating the early work, Taylor allderdice to me stands out just like Kush and OJ as being really creative and raw).
Respect for listening to this super unexpected as well this is a certified not only week smoker’s classic but also a Hip Hop classic in general I always put Wiz & Mac Miller in that class of rapper who brokeout yet still created their own lane within Hip Hop Please React to some more Mac Miller I’d love for you guys to do my fav Mac project “Watching Movies with the Sound Off”🙌🏽🔥🎯💯
Idk if it was mentioned, but early in the mixtape, Wiz shouts out Spitta and pops even laughed and said something about it. I don’t even know if he realized that Curren$y is that same dude. Dope video
This one is in my top 10 forever, maybe even top 5 albums. Brings back vivid memories of high school for me. Great reaction! You should do "This Plane" by wiz if you ever get the chance. That's my #1 by wiz
Ayyye put your pops on Larry June.. I feel like your pops would like Larry’s voice and style.. Love the videos man.. I enjoy watching the connection you have with your dad man it’s beautiful, don’t stop grinding
Dope reaction! I would love to see a reaction to Lil Wayne's No Ceilings mixtape or J. Cole's Friday Night Lights mixtape since he liked J. Cole's albums
Shout out to you for playing this for your pops. Also shout out to you for knowing that Berner info. You should do a reaction to one of Berners albums. I recommend “Drugstore Cowboy” and “ 11/11”.
Man this is dope..one of the most influential mixtapes of our time! If you introduce Pops to the Hot Spitta after this he might pick up a smokin habit lol
Daaamn what a blessing of a pick this was. Now yall have to do Taylor allerdice you a real wiz fan so you know its only right lol and If yall do curren$y def consider his joint project fetti with Freddie gibbs. Keep up the great work 👍
Also: *side note* during this era, most tracks on the internet based tapes aren't actually featuring the artist. It's just giving obvious credit to the artist who they sampled. *Free downloadable tapes were still in a gray area around this time.* So more often than not, it doesn't really have (say, *"Demi Lovato"* ) on the track performing but merely a vocal chop or instrumentation sampled/interpolated. Also, shoutout to the Temptations reference Pops -- did the David Ruffin album cover give it away? Wale tapes circa this time are an example as well, including many others. Speaking of Mr. Folarin... *Can DMV get some love?*
@@BridgingTheGapYT word. And I appreciate how his major label debut was actually better compared to many of his contemporaries who transitioned from tapes to studio albums. All love to you and Pops. ✊🏽
This tape raised me!! Glad your channel doing good! Also you done Section 80 yet by Kendrick? Or Ludacris Red Light District, or Gucci Mane got banger tapes!!
Reaction Suggestions: 2pac- Makevili 7 day theory Mobb Deep - The infamous Nas- It was written Lox - We are the streets Ruff Ryders vol .1 Juvenile- 400 Degreez
Speakin on the 70s 80s influence that album cover is the same one as David Ruffin’s “Gentlemen Ruffin” he just put his face on it lol good times listening to this for sure tho
