The fact that I need directions for how to use a hose reel has made me feel less confident in my handman abilities. At any rate, thanks for the video!! Now I'm on to a video on how to use my new pressure washer 🙂
Oh my goodness, you made putting a hose on a hose reel easy to understand for this non-techy (techy isnot the right word), but it's the only thing that comes to mind easy. Thank you so much. I subscribed to your channel and are looking for more good videos on home repairs. I know this isn't a repair, but you get the picture! Thank you so much!!!
That’s so kind of you! I’m glad the video helped. Appreciate you subscribing. Yup, I’m continuing to make videos based on what needs fixing around my house. Never know what might be next! 😆
Thanks for putting in the time and effort to make this video! The process is pretty simple but you saved me and I’m sure plenty others tons of time by doing these types of videos! I love RU-vid videos like this!
Great, thanks. In fact, I just went to Lowe's and bought one. Going to set it up tomorrow, because it looks like rain here. I like the looks of the it. The one I bought, which is also a Suncast Hosemobile, has a guide that you put the hose through so it goes from side-to-side while you are winding it up. No need to keep it even by hand. Seems pretty solid, for that price. Thanks for your help. P.S. I do have a kink-free hose.
One useful tip that I would like to add here is that before you store it before the winter starts, and if the temperature in your area drops into freezing, make sure to drain all the water otherwise it will freeze and damage the hose. Thank you.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. But I don't understand why everyone's praising you. This is basic common sense. I just clicked on the video to see if anyone had the problem I had which was the spigot hose leaking right out of the box, brand new...
@@daddoesvideos I just need to tighten the hose where it connects to the hose reel as the water is leaking a little… then I’ll be good to go. Thanks again.
You forgot to mention to bring the unit in sude during the winter to prevent freezing. Tthey will have to watch the advance video on how to repair the cracked swivel tube.
OMG THANK U i just got one with new hose an thought ok this is easy ya no im like ok one part is too big but after watching video im like ohhhhh hahahah got it so thank you
Thank you! After inheriting this, I couldn't figure out how to make this work. However, I have to say it seems like a major design flaw on the part of Suncast to make a mobile reel that isn't really mobile without the addition of another hose! Can you just skip the 4' piece?
@@daddoesvideos Thanks for letting me know. I really appreciate you responding. I have some mobility issues, so I was really looking forward to rolling the cart around the yard instead of dragging the hose. It just bugs me that attaching a long leader hose basically means I'm still left with a long hose to deal with, at least if I want to use it as I envisioned. Thanks again!
How is this holding up for you? Not sure which you have because you did not show the side with the key connecting parts. I find the clip and the mechanism tube to be very shoddy materials. I wish they had made these parts in metal.
Thanks for the useful tips. I wish you had demonstrated unreeling the hose and reeling it back in. I'm wondering if the thing does move or tip forward when you unreel the hose. Also wondering if you have to get all of the water out of the hose before reeling in. Wouldn't it be too stiff if you didn't?
Hey there! Thanks for the feedback. It doesn’t tip over or move when you unreel. As far as getting all the water out, I always turn off the water first, then squeeze the trigger on your hose nozzle/sprayer to empty the hose.
My Suncast hose mobile has a compression connector on it that goes to the faucet. NOT THREADS like in the video. Impossible to find that hose.Suncast website doesn't even show one.
I did this but water started to come out of the part where you connect the water hose to it. Is it not tight enough or do I have to buy something for it? I have the continental water hose
Hah. Actually, yes. Good question. There’s a little pedal that’s on the front right (if looking at the reel). Put your foot on that when rolling in the hose. That should help!
Thanks for the information. I hope you don't mind another questions (I am seriously thinking of buying one of these. Lowe's has this on sale until July 12 for $39.99. $10 off.) If I want to water something that's only 30 feet away from the unit, do I have to unreel the entire hose? Or will the water flow through hose when it is wound up on the reel? Thanks for your time and patience.
Don’t mind questions at all! That’s what makes this fun! You don’t have to unreal the entire hose. The water will flow through the hose when it’s wound up on the real. I’d suggest getting a hood hose though-one that doesn’t kink. If the hose kinks on the reel, it would block the water from coming through. Hope that helps!
SMH!!!!...NEVERRRRRR occurred to me I could install a LONGER leader hose (spigot->hose reel). Missed out on the convenience of rolling the reel around the yard and opted for constantly monitoring the hose to make sure hose didn't crush flowers as I moved around the yard. Won't tell you how long I've had my hose reel. ROFL and SMH! SMH! SMH! THANK YOU!!!!
