Modern divorce culture is tough. Sometimes it just doesn't work out, sometimes it is years of pain with no resolve, sometimes it is a long con, but most of the time either the marriage shouldn't have happened OR the issues that lead to divorce were completely resolvable but the couple never solved them either by choice or lack of awareness. I know some great pairs of people that have gotten divorced for better or for worse, but almost always leaving a kid or kids to struggle. I am glad your dad is out there achieving his dreams, giving up is never the best option no matter your age; on top of that, you will find an SO - it takes time, a lot of time it takes failure. The perfect person does walk into your life, it just is never apparent. People may not even meet your standards until you get closer to them and they become your standards. I know devilishly handsome guys who had great relationships with "5/10s" simply because appearance largely stops mattering when the bond and mutual care is there. The online dating market and what you see of relationships and the "western woman" online are largely limited to the online space, you meet a real person and maybe you like them, if you do then chances are they are just a decent person (unless your "type" just leads to bad people). I couldn't have been more blessed with my relationship because I chose the right person when life hid them in plain sight. Sorry this went on so long but best of luck, you have plenty of time and your goyslop employment will help you get set up well.
Wholesome optimistic wheen is really enjoyable to hear. Great dads really deserve happiness. I also have a great dad who went through a nasty unfair divorce (before my mom). He's nearing 70 now and is still the smartest, kindest person I know. He came from nothing and did real good for himself, gave me a very privileged upbringing, and he seems very happy, and I hope he keeps getting happier. (I'm totally screwed but that's not the point)

Honestly, if you're not in a good mental state, it's best to stick to yourself. Even though I may be a bit younger than you (19), when you're in a bad mental state, it's not worth putting yourself into a position where you could be even more miserable. Do what you love to do, and focus on that. Don't focus on looking for a woman. Usually when you go searching, that's when you find a terrible significant other. It's best to let them come to you. Just keep being yourself man. You're doing great!

I have a mom who did the same exact thing as your dad, but she has decided that being without someone else is probably better.
