*Actually playing the game*: "Oh god, oh f---! Scary Daddy, Scary Daddy! Run Tabby, RUN!!!" *Watching this video, thus not having the anxiety of being chased*: "Wow, he really looks like he's grooving with that walking animation."
Honestly, I wonder if these themes were made with Tabby's view on things in mind. For me, I really enjoy WALKING due to how...Familiar? And oddly somber it feels. I dunno, WALKING feels like the start of every cycle, it's repetitive and calm, almost as if it represents just how Tabby feels in general, as the cycle is essentially her life. Get up, walk around a little, run for her life...She'll probably wind up killed, or worse. What's the point? Is what WALKING represents to me, Tabby waking up, exhausted with her existence. DADDY, on the other hand feels...Weird? It's meant to be menacing but then it gets oddly...Hopeful? Specifically around 0:40, the music takes a sort of turn and represents a sort of...Different feeling. It's scary, the music ramps up and becomes even more tense as some singing from WALKING fades in, the song probably represents how Tabby feels in this moment, maybe she'll actually be able to win for once. 'Course, depending on the player's actions she'll either be murdered by her father, or wind up actually beating him Then...Dispossessed fades in, calming but sad. Tabby's won but she's killed her father, and the cycle isn't broken. She's still stuck in the house with her family. Christ, this game is depressing, I'm really looking forward to the new content that's coming out soon- Great work, as always.
I suppose the more hopeful part of the theme could be the fact that, one way or another, this particular cycle is coming to an end. Either you're going to die or you're going to win. Either way, you'll either weaken the house or have a fresh shot at it next time.
I heard a rumor that if you just stand still when he gets home, even if you're almost right in front of him, he still won't move a muscle. Edit: I think that they meant that if you don't press the A button when he says "Daddy's home" he won't move, Obviously.
I really love this game and it’s music! It deserves more attention! This is one of the most amazing games I’ve ever seen. The plot is original and the way it’s set up is just amazing! Keep up the good work!
I was kinda afraid of my dad growing up. He had anger issues. He was fine most of the time but when it rained it poured with him. When he did come home or whenever he was around...there was always that...slight unease. There's a hint of familiarity to the "daddy's home" aspect of this game. I suspect many people who grew up in patriarchal households can relate.
