I made a Rubik's cube out of wood that ended up huge and heavy. It is a to-scale replica that I'm going to hang up in my shop as a bit of artwork. A fun and relatively simple project that you can do yourself in a weekend.

I think it can be done, but probably not with the Friction fit sliding style that the plastic version uses

Cool piece of art. I was initially thinking you were going to make a “working” wooden cube. I realize that would be quite difficult. Good job. Great video.

Thanks dude. I took apart one to see the mechanism: way, way to close a tolerance to make giant, and in wood… so went a different route
