I was very sad to hear of his passing today. This man was a true pioneer and a huge legend. His contributions to the culture are invaluable. I'm glad he got his flowers while he was still here on earth. May he rest in power. 🙏🏾🇯🇲

Tubby's was a genius SONICALLY, while others focused on the MUSICAL aspect of the music, Tubby's is responsible for the actual SOUND of the music. Tubby's was building echo chambers, samplers, crossovers etc before they became commercially available.

Whodunit? Did anyone miss what the great Toaster U-Roy (universally acclaimed as the pioneer of rapping to music) said about King Tubby at 11:32? "Tubbys, dem pay for kill Tubbys as far as I understand." U-Roy may be right or wrong, only God knows but the abiding lesson here is that sometimes being too good at what you do can be a threat to your own safety and security. It is a wicked world out there.

The interviewer often interrupts a good anecdote when he hears something that catches his interest. Get pen and paper and jot down notes so as to allow the people to complete their narrative then get back to what piqued your interest. Good work though, documenting these foundation artists.
