It's songs like this that make me wonder how people were sleeping on Revival so hard. Bruh, this song is deep, and the visuals just made it even moreso.

This is an example of his growth and maturity. Revival is Grown Slim Shady. He admits to being a dog, but he got what he wanted. His bars are so deep. He's moving on and he had to body the haters. I love me some "Woke Eminem".

In Verse 2, Em uses clever wordplay with cleaning products. "Why do I do this DIRT that I do? Get on my SOAPBOX and preach, my sermon and speech, DETERGENT and BLEACH is burnin' the wound" A soapbox is a raised platform which someone uses when speaking. Then he connects this with, "bleach is burnin' the wound", which implicates a self-induced abortion where the woman consumes bleach. Also notice the religious theme throughout the song... "Sins need holy water" "River run / Reverend" "prayed on you like it's church at the pew" "preach my sermon" "forbidden fruit" So much complexity from what outsiders would consider a formulated pop song.

The critics were so wrong about Revival. Period.

It sounds like a cop out, but Revival went over most people's heads. If you take the time LIKE YOU TWO DO to sit down, listen, re-listen to the lines and piece it together this album is insane. The bars are dope, wordplay out of this world, and unlike alot of music out, there's actually CONTENT in this songs from this album. Great reaction/review dads! Rivival has only one standard and it's called "Stan". Eminem took it personal because I believe to him the story telling was the main topic to this project. Many fan got on board on the crazy side of his struggles but many fan did like Eve. They choose to listen to idiots like Joe over falling in love with the honesty of Revival.

Let's saaaaaaay in about 5 years? yeh! 5years, they'll change their tune and add Revival to one of Em's Classics! Yep! Folk slept on that album

I just heard this song for the first time. I am a first time Eminem fan; as I discovered him after seeing a video for the album tracks of Music To Be Murdered By. Ok, so I have heard a lot of reactions from a lot of people about Eminem and about his music. I went back and started to get my Emucation. I have heard about 3 songs off of Relapse including, 2 off of Revival, 4 off of Recovery, and Not Afraid also, 3 off of Kamikaze, and the entire album of Music To Be Murdered by. The only other rap from Eminem is about 4 songs (Rap God, Without Me, Real Slim Shady, Stan, and Lose Yourself off his earlier albums. I've just begun my journey of discovering Eminem songs. This song certainly did affect me...because the same happened to me. And I know first hand what happens in these circumstances. It NEVER ends well. You always kind of hope that the couple messing around to find happiness will make that happen. The problem is, that car always crashes and burns and leaves you broken. I think Marshall has had a string of bad luck with women. Good thing he has his therapist in a booth and his pen and paper. I know there are lots more. Thank you for the breakdown.
