Did you do anything with it? I just started playing with Sonic Pi and SuperCollider and there's so much depth to all of this stuff. Do you have any music that I can listen to and see where one year can take me?
@@daladirn5119 The truth is: I instantly abandoned it because it only runs in its own IDE thingy and it doesn't have vim key bindings so I couldn't bear working with it :'D There were some guides on remote controlling it from vim but I couldn't make it work. I think though essentially it might be easier (at least for me) to use JavaScript with Web APIs such as the Audio API or the MIDI API. You can probably get fairly similar results with it but also customize it more.
@@That__Guy Thanks for the reply, will look into that, might be a good way to go if I lose the patience. Both SC and IDEs are a pain, that's for sure. SuperCollider luckily has some decent highlighter extension, so I can at least work in that, when defining synths, though the language itself is very unfamiliar to me. Stuck on comparing arguments in if statements. It seems like it's typed, but I can't find any decent documentation for that. Kinda fun for now, but I'll see in the long run if I'll stick with it or start looking into alternatives.
So you never heard of supercollider ?? That's the underlying engine on which sonic pie runs Hard to believe since you're a musician and a coder , supercollider is the holy grail of coding and dsp
Seriously awesome. Great job! Wasn't even aware of Sonic Pi nor of coding a song like this. You have just contributed to taking my programming skills to the next level!
Shit bro! This was uploaded in my birthday! and i love it! , thanks for gifting me this , im learning programming because of my career (software engineering), this is impressive! brofist man, thanks for this gift! :)... You showed that coding has its creativity, not just logic!
went to the site in the description, copied the finished product, copied it into sonic pi on my pi top, had to delete only line 6 and 7 for minor issues but works awesome after that
Maybe - if I would not be coding the whole day in my normal job - this would be something to dig into :) But as I do, it will be fun to watch others use it...
