I believe what this song is trying to say is that we should all treat eachother equally because on the inside we are all just cold hard robots with daft punk helmets.
It's taking about how we should all be treated equally because we are the same and we all act very similarly. At the end though where it repeats human is more talking about how do we know when we're to similar to each other and we are more robotic and computers than an actual human.
Also, that everyone is different in their own respective ways and that people are afraid of change and what they don't understand, therefore, almost literally, attacking anyone and thing that is irregular.
Equal? Search up affirmative action my people are held down purposely. Futher more the video is a play on the 70s indie horror genre which would have alot of twist and leave you wondering like for instant what if the reason they dont take off their helmets is because they know that the others would try and force them back under the helmets give mind control notice how everyone else is wearing the same color as their helmets almost as thier skin but they dont maybe one if them figured out how to break away from the control.
They made Music for almost 30 Years, but they are Humans after all, they get older as well, they have a normal life as everyone here has...this could have been a great song to end their career, glad it wasnt! But we knew this time has to come... (not correct english i know...)
This is still my favourite way of experiencing "Human After All". This clip condenses the entire first half of an hour-long movie into 5 minutes, and accompanies that with extremely fitting and amazing song. And the result is a piece of media that might bring the message across equally efficiently, if not more so, compared to the original. I love it!
@@chandrasekharChebiyyam I recognized all of it, I live near there... well more specifically I live in between these places. It's fun being able to be close to these iconic places.
Cuz all the music was rushed and made really badly. They sucked in composition like they always did, but this time they also sucked in sound design. You think robot rock was at least a good song? It was almost entirely sampled from an 80s song. They just added some synths here and said 2 words on top of those samples.
"Electroma" is a seriously under rated and genuine ART film. so much more than an extended music clip cos they didnt actually use their own music in the original, and still managed to stay true to all their aesthetics. as multi-media artists they achieved as much as any other format/medium that they worked on with this film and i wish more people had seen it.
The clips in the video are from Daft Punk's official "film" called "Electroma" and have been edited together by a third party to make this video here. So it's kind of official, kind of fan made. Very well done none the less
I think it just represents the struggle of being yourself, it can be really difficult keeping it togheter, and this music video is from the movie Electroma if you didn't know, which is clearly about two robots willing to become humans
I think the meaning behind the video is that everyone is really anonymous to the other. You dont see someone you know, but rather you see just someone going about their day. If someone tries to be well known, like the punks did by looking human, people will recognize them and it'll be overwhelming. Its also why daft punk chose to be robots, as they wanted the attention to be towards the music and not themselves
I think the helmets are brilliant. They have been able to defeat one of the things that hinders many musicians-and that is aging. They never age with the helmets on. And continue to be cool year after year.
I stumbled into my dad’s office once when I was a kid, and watched the video with him. The melting faces scared the shit out of me, one of the scariest things I saw as a child. I’m happy I found it again, now as an adult it is not as scary, I can finally get over that fear :)
I think that this clip from Electroma is more fitting to the song than to the movie itself. Good job. I'm sure there's no way their official video would be better than this.
Costume designer: How many helmets do we need? Daft Punk: 500 Costume Designer: Wow? really? Isn’t that a bit too much Daft Punk: *There are never too many helmets*
Coming to this video straight after "Time to Pretend by MGMT" is just another worldly feeling, a feeling of wanting to free everyone from their egos... I hope all is well, and wish everyone much love and many blessings. We are human after all.
I love the additional detail that they are singing about being human but there's no human singing in the song. It's sampled audio mimicking human speech patterns.
this reminds me so much of a Bukowski poem, what do Humans do, they eat, they water plants, they get married, they have kids, they are machine like robots, they are not human after all
In a documentary I found out that Electroma (which is where the footage was taken from) originally started as a Music Video for this song. Great Job, whoever made this. It's very nice to imagine it as one
Driving a black 1987 Ferrari 412 with its plate naming *HUMAN* in a Californian superhighway and passing through a typical local township it's not just being two prodigies. It's ART to the nth degree.
at these times we interpret any piece of media or art according to our feelings and state, which also means we could also misinterpret them, that intensifies these emotions and sometimes negatively. be careful and dont consume media when it affects you negatively so you can enjoy it in the future
...noticed a lot more people've been crying a lot more for than we ever used to since that damn pandemic. I hope we can all shake it off, like a flea off a dog.
Fun when I recognize exactly where Daft Punk is driving . For me , with their Cali plates and Joshua trees & Sage brush all around they've got to be out in & around the 'Mojave Desert' , out where I was stationed in the U.S. Air Force so long ago at George AFB , Victorville , California . :-) Man, I do miss the open road of The Mojave , & the lovely sights of the Joshua Trees. :-D TSS
I heard one of their songs at a bar at 18 was hooked I remember downloading interstella 5555 on dial up that's how much I loved daft punk you still listening to this your a legend!
Literalmente.. al escuchar estos maravillosos sonidos... Estoy llorando!!! 💔
i wasn't the biggest daft punk fan before they quit and didn't really listen to many of there songs but after they quit it started my interest in them again and now i am listening to more of their songs :)
NoelMakers82 I actually have one. I got mine for $50, it's a Thomas helmet, it has a awesome thing where if you speak, the lights on the visor will light up. Check it out on my channel. I made a whole cosplay.
Whatever the helmet you got is, it's definitly not what i had in mind. I was talking about the ACTUAL helmets used in this video, what looks like to be fully chrome ones.
The movie destroyed me. It made me realize that sometimes the avatars we create for ourselves can take over and leave you feeling inhuman. They kept trying to cover up their robotic faces, and in the end they both just destroy themselves in agony. They even have self destruct buttons already designed on their robotic bodies
I’ve been listening to Daft Punk since I was like 12, i am now 27. Their debut album literally came out the year I was born (1997). I love their music SO much. I have listened to them through some of my darkest and happiest times in my life. I’m super bummed to hear they won’t be making music anymore! But I truly appreciate the years we had them.
When I first saw this song I thought it was fire but when I saw they were trying to make themselves human again I was disturbed of how they look with that clay animation but either it was a great song and great video Edit: ok I did not know the clips were based off of they’re movie Electroma that’s awesome they made a movie
This whole music video was filmed within 30+ miles from where I live. Ive noticed so many music artists and movie directors film out near where I live. Its pretty cool seeing stuff I recognize in movies or music videos!
