I always got the vibe that the dad was sneaking around with the other lady (behind Jeff and his wife's back) that he eventually married which is the real reason he would be gone for long periods of time insteadof for work. I felt that that was part of why he said he was a "bad husband " and felt guilty for not being there for him.
Also the families and many involved out here who lived through feel this series wasn’t needed at all.. because firstly they added a lot of untruth or fabricated stories, plus their overly telling Dahmer and his family backstory as if wanting the viewers to have empathy or sympathy for the Dahmers.. plus it seemed weird and calculated how they specifically chose a heart throb famous white dude to play the role.. which only made people on the internet now lusting and romanticizing Jeffrey Dahmer because the victims were barely googled or searched but thanks to this show Dahmer himself was highly searched and googled and is the one who has become famous and on TikTok being lusted after.. and the families are being re traumatized with this bein back in the mainstream and them havin to see re-enactments of the guy who killed their loved ones. We live in a strange world where Hollywood and general public glamorize serial killers and make them famous and the victims who should be getting the appreciation and love in death after having their life taken away from them, don’t.
I still expect more factual portrayals. Ignore history? Ignore talent? It educates another generation. It had me look into the victims which I gained more heart for what I hadn’t known before. Criminologists would appreciate these programs. Free speech grants it. Hope and pray the worst doesn’t happen.
Even though I was born in New York I was raised out here in Milwaukee and was a child when all this was going on in the early 90s , this series is full of lies mixed in with bits and pieces of the truth. I don’t know why they added the Laotian family of the 14 year old boy in the court giving a statement because that never happened.. the family literally didn’t go , and after Jesse Jackson came to Milwaukee he left shortly after and nothing really happened. 🤷🏽♂️ the cops was never fired either - it’s like the city of Milwaukee tried to act like none of it ever took place which is disrespectful to the victims and their family because it’s been 30 years and there’s still no memorial for the victims. And many of the families couldn’t even bury their loved ones because many of their bodies and parts of them were missing and or never found. One of his victims families only got a head back and had to cremate the head.. the actual details of what all took place is way more dark and disgusting and evil then what the series shows.
