One catch... if you don't edit the curves on all sides of the object, it doesn't subdivide the sides that were not changed when you convert to Mesh. Then you have to subdivide the edges after converting for Grid Fill to work. To avoid this, while the object is still a bezier curve object, select the CV handles for the edges not changed, then press the G key as if to move them, but don't move them - just press Enter, and the unedited sides will change to properly divided curve segments.
Haha! Let's just say that it's 70% me staring at my computer screen in panic and 30% actually creating a video every day! Really anytime someone asks me "hey, how can I do this thing?" it's a big help for me because then I don't need to think of a thing.
Mesh from curve option isn’t there despite the fact I’ve enabled the plug ins. Looks easy but hard to do for a beginner. Also I’d like to know please how to add vertices to modify in the curve if possible as I’m creating a front curved shape that curves on y and x axis but bends at edges.
Amazing...please cover more tips like this and organic modeling..the things that we already can do in ketchup with plugins but I'm sure blender has enough power and flexibility to do them even better
You do organic modeling in Sketchup? What kind of things specifically? Have a look at the previous modeling videos, here is a playlist of the modeling topic: ru-vid.com/group/PLrB1kuJIjcg7LoWhvpwllq58DXWOZhP8K
this curve grid display disapear in 3d view without converting it to mesh and then grad fill is it normal to lose the mesh view. ? i..so we see curve always !
In edit mode... select the "move" tool. Then choose a vertex, click with the mouse and drag. You can also use gimbal to move vertices or move them using keyboard shortcuts in conjunction with the mouse
