It seemed fine in the moment but watching it back was rough. This game was absolutely winnable if I didn't punt at any of three different opportunities.
I think waxing specter red is the pick over bastion red. I love bastion red, but specter is 3 for 7 go again, and bastion is just 3 for 7. Pack 1 I might take bastion to stay open, but specter is too cracked if you’re locked on illusionist imo
So, it has since been explained to me that this set really rewards staking your claim early. A p1p1 or p1p2 Waxing Specter is likely to pay off later not only for its synergy with the deck, but because I'm more likely to signal to the drafters to my right that Illusionist is a closed lane. This is all to say that I think you're correct!
its pretty blurry and as a new player its hard for me to see what card your talking about. is it just me for the blurryness or am I doing something wrong so i can read these cards better?
This is something I can improve on in future videos, as I didn't realize until recently that I can zoom in on the cards in the pack. Draftmancer doesn't do it natively, which is why all of these are so hard to read. It's something I'll fix for my next video!
