Glad to hear it! They're a big investment up front but you'll get so much use out of them in the long term.

I think the biggest draw of Stone Rain with Riptide is the dominate. I've been trying out a lot of the new cards with Sandscour Azalea and Stone Rain doesn't do much of anything there, but Riptide lacks the closing power of Azalea. The opponent might think they're safe from traps for a few more turns but a cheeky dominate from Riptide is a huge late game momentum swing when it lines up.

You know, I get that. Stone Rain with an aim counter and a couple Laces on top is good damage and potentially limits the crack back if the opponent isn't at as high a life total as I was.

I will say stone rain is not the best I to kayo since we pick what’s put in banish. A lot of the time it’s lettting us protect an arsenal card we woulda had a chance to discard. My roommate is on riptide and the aim counter building is the way to play him imo. I think stone rain is just bad into us. Side note: I have been enjoying the content, I’m pretty new here but I’ve watched almost all the kayo videos as I started with the armory deck and have been upgrading it slowly. You have helped my kayo plays a lot, just seeing some of the lines and thought processes on when to use certain things.

That's a reasonable take, I think. Kayo plays so well on 2-5 cards that taking one from us shouldn't impact any given turn very much. Thank you so much! I'm glad that my videos have been able to help :)

Couple thoughts: - On Stone Rain, my Ranger local has said that combined with Seek and Destroy or Inertia, they can order the triggers to force you to discard the banished card??? I haven't asked an L2 yet on that myself. - Riptide could have hidden where Collapsing Trap was in the deck with Trench, either intentionally or unintentionally. It's possible it didn't even show up in pitch anywhere in the game.

My understanding regarding Stone Rain + Inertia is that I as the active player get to order the triggers on my turn (similar to how I can order Bloodrot to trigger before Inertia, for example). I would have to confirm with a judge but I don't believe the cards work the way your local intends them to.

@@Lupinefiasco The tricky thing about that is that Bloodrot and Inertia are auras that get put under your control, whereas Stone Rain's effect (and the effect of a card like Seek and Destroy) is an on-hit on a card your opponent controls. I have asked my local L2 for clarification at this point 😂

From L2 - "6.6.6b If two or more triggered-layers would have been created, the turn player selects a player, then each player in clockwise order adds all pending triggered-layers they control onto the stack in an order they choose, starting with the selected player. Turn player controls inertia while non turn player controls stone rain trigger - turn player should be able to order it so their end of turn triggers happen before the non turn players or vice versa"

@@Afisch1234567 this interaction is confirmed on my end as well! Stone Rain + Seek and Destroy is a solid combo.

Hey just passing by to let you know that I finished 3-4 in BH São Paulo playing Kayo, sadly I was sick with stomachache (this is not excuse just saying it). Matches that I played: Kayo (L), Maxx (L), Dash (L), Boltyn (W), Boltyn (W), Riptide (W), Levia (L), I started 0-3, and just tried to recover my ELO points, I didn't use No fear but I used smashing perfomance in my side specting some mechas, I did get some mecha but lost anyway, got very Unlucky in my loses, specially in the mirror where I drew 2 All-red hands, with 2 non-blocks. Talking about Riptide, the one that I won was an aggro Riptide with New Horizon, Barbed Castway and the new cards, he stroke me for 10 dominate, on hit discard, on hit banish a card facedown and bloodrotpox, felt like I was playing aggainst Azalea, really good this Azalea Precon to build a new Riptide deck, but in this matche I did Kayo things and did a lot of damage. I hope Brazil gets a Calling next year since we got 150 players playing it, #BrazilDeservesACalling

Smashing Performance is a good call if your scene has Mech in it! It's very mech-light where I play but there are assassins everywhere, so No Fear is a lot more relevant. Bad beats on the unlucky losses, but you'll get them next time! This channel wouldn't exist if we stopped trying to improve after we lose :)

Hi mate, looking at the play at 16:30 we have a great blocking hand and are incentivised to block out to avoid getting a bloodrot, if we take the damage to throw e strike with go again we are already losing 1 value vs the pure blocking value of estrike + 2nd card (throwing 5 vs blocking 6) but on top of this we are taking 2 from the bloodrot and risking a trap turning off being able to throw a 2nd attack. Taking the hit to get greedy and throw the 2 attacks loses us 3 value points here, I know we have quite the life lead here but being able to look back on it do you think that is value trade we should be making? Genuinely curious, big fan of the series, apologies if I do come across badly in my comments, I enjoy watching the vids and seeing if I agree with the lines to try and get productive takeaways for my own gameplay

Looking back on this after a week makes me think that I'm very off-base lmao! Block 9 (actually 11) send 9 (actually 10) is way better than pushing a little extra damage. If Riptide had 5 less life then I could see pushing for lethal, but playing for overall value is a much better decision in this spot. Good catch!
