Hi Robin, great tips. I use the mantra “don’t put it down, put it away”. This helps to keep our house clutter free and tidy. Sending you love from Brisbane, Australia.
I'm also trying to practice being more disciplined in the small things. Like putting things away after using them, trashing things vs put it down for later, etc. It's helped so much, especially in the bathroom.
I've never thought of doing the big tasks one each day! Oh my gosh how much time & effort I would save! Thank you Robin 😍 once again I come away from your video with a new tactic 🙏 it's common sense really but I've never been big on that haha! I always try & do it all in a day then I'm shattered & I haven't really done anything well. Again thank you x
I really hope that helps Patricia! I would love to have our home cleaned top to bottom in one day, but that is just too much! 😂 This way was what helped me survive and stay sane when my boys were little and I still prefer it today. God bless!💛🌻💛
I would say that this video is a Robin’s classic! Full of helpful tips, realistic and useful advices, relaxing and beautiful to watch! What helped me the most, today, was the advice on how to streamline cleaning by reducing the number of cleaning products. That was exactly what I was thinking, recently, when looking at the many products I have, some of which I bought months ago and am not even close to using! Thank you so much, Robin, and have a nice week! 💗☺💙💛🌹
Hi Robin - your home looks so pretty and so clean. I love all the surfaces that you picked out. I would love to have something new. I built his house when I was 28 or 29 and within two weeks I’ll be 75 years old. I’ve tried to keep it updated the best I can but it still has some things that are showing their age. Waiting to see where I end up next. I have not done anything but keep my House tidy. I’ve been really busy with precious friends that have both lost their sons due to brain cancer. We were just talking in Sunday school this morning that we feel like we’ve had a black cloud over our class for a while. One of my precious friends had her son’s memorial service on Saturday and she was not even able to attend. She got rushed to the hospital a couple of nights before and she’s still in ICU with a heart issue and pneumonia. We have tried to do as much as we can to help her and the other friend also. I’ve been very involved in a lot of that so I’ve only had time and energy just to keep my house tidy. But they’ll soon be a time where I can do some good cleaning. This is more important to minister to those in need. But back to the house keeping , I bet it would be so fun to clean some new surfaces and not some that are 40 or 50 years old like mine. Ha ha. Thanks again for all your wonderful videos. I watch them over and over. Love in Christ
I agree! Donna you are a wonderful friend. I know that your support has been so appreciated. I'm very sorry to hear about the loss that your friends have suffered and I pray that they will find comfort and peace. I'm glad to know that you are feeling well and I'll be here cheering you on whenever you need some cleaning motivation. Have a blessed week my sweet friend and sister in Christ! 🙏🌻💛
Hi Donna! I too love watching Robin over and over; it is just a wonderful channel. ♥️ I keep thinking how wonderful this community here is; and what a fun homemaking group of friends we would be. I always enjoy reading your comments; I am 52, my mother is 75; and it warms my heart to read your comments. God bless your stewardship, and my prayers go out to your friends. My God watch over their hearts. ♥️ ~ Audrey
Hi Donna! I too love to read your comments! I always do! You are a good friend indeed, and I admire how you put your faith into action by being there for those who suffer and need your support. We have friends, a couple, that have lost their son to brain cancer 2 years ago. He was 40. On this year’s anniversary of his death, the 8th of December, my friend told me that it was very difficult, they still suffer a lot. I pray for them, try to be there as much as I can, but somehow, they seem to need solitude, to be left alone, so I try to respect that. I feel so helpless! I would love to do more, but don’t know how! Have a nice week, Donna!
We are looking at downsizing and moving to a one story. I cant wait. Doing mopping and vacuuming in one day would wear me out for the week. When we had a tiny apartment I could clean it top to bottom and do laundry and shopping in one day! It was so nice!
It definitely helps to have a smaller home - and all on one level. Our previous home was a much bigger challenge.😅 You will love downsizing! God bless!💛🌻💛
I love your videos Robin! For this video my husband was home and he found your videos helpful as we cleaned and organized the home together!! I don’t know what I would do without your cleaning videos! I may be addicted 😂but in a good way! God bless you always! ❤
Hi Robin!! I’d love to see a video where you focus specifically on the use and maintenance of the Norwex cleaning cloths. I recently purchased a set of several different types but am unsure about how they work properly and also wondering about how often and how you clean and dry them. Hope to see a video about this someday😉🙂
Great idea Sheri! Manly you need to be sure not to wash them with your other laundry so that the microfibers don't get "clogged" with lint. I just wash mine in one load once per week in the machine with regular detergent. They can be dried in the dryer too! Have a blessed week! 💛😊💛
I'm finding your videos and suggestions helpful as health issues prevent me managing my home in the ways I always did. I need to pace myself and do very short cleaning sessions so a new routine is essential to help me manage within my limitations. Little and often seems more suitable for me now. My dear sister Margaret passed away recently and I am finding every day a struggle just now. Please pray for me and my family that God will grant us the grace and strength we need at this time. Thank you vera
You are so blessed with your family. My hubby collects, hordes and treasures so many thing I’m lucky to keep things vacuumed and dusted. So neat, tidy and organized is only a dream in my world. Still love your vlogs.
Thank you Linda. Start with the areas where you have more influence such as your side of the closet and the kitchen, but don't let it become more important than serving your family. Maybe you'll win him over by your example, but each family is different, so neat, tidy and organized is not the most important thing. God bless!💛🌻💛
Thumbs up! 👍🏻 Great tips, Robin! The little 5 minute tasks are sometimes the things that make the biggest impact. Such as the difference between towel drying and putting away the dishes that were hand washed after dinner, rather than my letting them air dry until morning. I’ve been taking that 5 extra minutes, and the difference it makes in the kitchen when I get up the next day, makes me happy! Happy homemaking my friend! Have a great week! ☺️♥️🏡 ~ Audrey
Key to all tidying for me is putting things away immediately. Do not put clothes on a chair, either in the wash or hung back up. Takes little time and saves me from looking at a mess. I like to clean in one day so I can enjoy the clean for most of the week. Setting aside 1 hour to buzz thru already tidied home is very efficient and rewarding for me.
I love the clean by task I’m going to implement this for my cleaning schedule for this new year. Monday is bathrooms. I hate doing bathrooms so I get the biggest job done on Monday.
Hi Robin, I really like your cleaning schedule. I have been on one for years. My mom was a really good teacher on keeping the rooms clean and tidy. She always told me that your kitchen could be spotless but if the dishes were not done and put up the sink would attract everyone's eye and then the kitchen would not look clean. Same for bedroom if bed was not made that is what people would see and the room would look messy. Guess every room in a house may be like that. I really stress the nightly pickup, also. It's nice to get up to a neat home. This video was great. God bless you and family.🙏🙏🙏
You must have read my mind. I was thinking it would be nice to listen to your cleaning schedule again. I heard it years ago when you were living in the old house. Thank you. Have a good week.
Great tips!! Your homemaking is always inspiring to me! I am challenged with four young kids, and I love keeping a home as clean as possible, but I have to stay flexible in this season. I just ordered one of the lambs wool dusters, because it looks like an easy way the kids and I can keep dust at bay! Thank you!
Well done, mom! Mine would always have me dusting - it was a safe (for me and things) and hard to mess up (my mom was a bit of a perfectionist) chore for me to do and I always felt like I was contributing (which kids love) in a grown-up way. Now, as she has dementia, it's a safe chore for her to do and makes her feel like she's contributing. Dusting, drying dishes, and folding towels.
It seems that you have a lot of enjoyment in taking care of your home! I wish I could feel more that way too! I get overwhelmed and give up but I’m going to try harder! Thank You Robin ❤️
These cleaning techniques brings back memories of my mother. She always said, don't walk up or down stairs empty handed, put something away, back in place. With 5 children we had a tidy house and very clean! Routines were a part of everyday life.
Great tips thankyou so much! It certainly helps to do little things each day to keep the house tidy and to not end up being overwhelmed when its all a mess.
Oh Robin how envious am I that you can wear shorts in January, while I type this it's snowing outside here in Northern Ireland 🇮🇪 Love all your video's ❤️🙏🇮🇪
Hi Eileen! It’s actually a little too cool for shorts here too. Some of the clips I used were filmed back in the summer. Although today is almost 80 degrees - so maybe…🤔😄💛
Thank you Roberta! Eventually we will renovate our laundry room and will probably stack our washer and dryer. I agree lifting them would be a big help! God bless!💛🌻💛
Someone commented about your washer & dryer not on a base to raise them up. I don't have them either. They have to be perfectly balanced to do that. But I do use a reacher gadget to get the clothes like a sock at the back of the dryer. Very handy to have. Lorraine
Hi Robin, these videos are always so inspiring. 💕 Your after Christmas reset video got me to polish all of my furniture, rather than just dust. I would love to see what your morning, midday, and evening routines are as a wfh professional. Especially now that you’re settled in your new home, Peyton’s commute is shorter, or now that it’s winter. Have your routines changed? I “wfh” too in that I’m my mom’s f/t caregiver and am struggling to keep up with the house, especially cooking, and just generally feeling burned out and not taking care of myself. You talked about how to fill in time gaps with little tasks, so when and how do you take time to yourself to replenish during your day? 💕
Hi Terri! It is a challenge to find time for myself and many days it doesn't happen. Sometimes I will watch some TV or RU-vid while folding clothes or cooking, and I usually take a little time before bed to wind down. I'll try to do another morning or evening routine video soon and I appreciate your questions! Have a blessed week!💛😊💛
Thank you Kathy! I did a tour before we moved in, but have not done one since the renovations were finished. I’ll try to do it soon! Have a blessed week! 💛🌼💛
Hi Robin, thank you for another soothing & inspirational video. I absolutely love the grey wrap sweater you wore in the beginning. Any links for it? Thank you as always - Roxanne ☺️
Hello, Robin. Thank you for the tips. They will be very useful and help me organize my daily routines. I have a question about your vacuum. You used 2 different vacuums in this video. I’m curious to know why you use 2 different ones. I’m looking for a cordless vacuum and would like to know how you like yours. Thank you! Have a blessed week.
Hi Brigid! I have a canister vacuum which is a real workhorse. I use it when I want to do a deep cleaning and I have a cordless one for convenience. It is lighter and and works great when I want to get things done quickly. It works well on both carpet and hardwood or tile floors. In my experience cordless vacuums are never as powerful as a good canister vacuum, but this one is the best I’ve ever tried and you can find both in my Amazon Store: www.amazon.com/shop/faithandflour 💛😊💛
Thanks, Robin! This is so helpful! When dusting, do you do your blinds and crown molding/trim weekly or on a rotation? Also, my daughter (who's 11 and often watches with me) ☺ asked about Austin.
Hi Cheryl! I don’t have blinds any longer 😅, but when we did I cleaned those along with the crown molding and baseboards on rotation when I zone cleaned. Austin is doing great and sends hugs! 🤗🐾💛
@@FaithandFlour Thank you for the quick response. I'll always liked my lambs wool dusters but wasnt sure about how to care for them. I'll have to try washing mine. Thanks again.
Thank You Robin, I enjoy watching your clips and find them motivating : ) I have a question.... I work 4 days a week so wonder how long each of your daily tasks take? I also hang my washing outside on the line. Do you have any suggestions for people who work during the week? Thank you : )
Hi Marie! I work as well, but from home, so I can work them into my day or set aside time at the end of the day. It is hard to say how much time I spend because each task requires something different. I'd say roughly between 20 minutes to an hour, but usually no more.
I really appreciate your content. One thing I would do different, is I would use a microfiber cloth in kitchen instead of lambs wool duster. I would be concerned about the possible grease in kitchen spreading around to other areas in the house. Or just have a separate duster for kitchen. I like your channel.
Thank you Amy! That piece was left by the owners of our previous home, so I'm not sure where it was purchased. I hope you are enjoying a blessed Sunday!💛🌻💛
When using e-cloths, what do you use to disinfect areas like kitchen and bathrooms? I didn’t see anything in the e cloth information about disinfecting areas.
Hi Cathy! I use a toilet cleaner to disinfect the toilet and don't use my Ecloths there, but they do capture 99% of bacteria, so I feel good about using them in the kitchen and on the bathroom counters. 💛😊💛
Hi Robin, love your last video on your weekly cleaning!!!! ? are you concern with using micro fiber cloths??? I heard they release small plastic micro into the water/sea? What are your thoughts? Trying to go zero waste but also want to be responsible for the environment. Thanks!
Thank you Jeannie! That is a concern for me too. Some micro plastics are released when you wash any type of synthetic fabrics, so unless you are using all natural fibers in all of your clothing it is happening. I have been looking into it and hope to find better alternatives, but for now I will use the microfiber cloths I have and reduce my use of plastics by not buying as many cleaners. Hopefully we can solve this problem soon. Have a blessed week!💛😊💛
@@FaithandFlour That makes sense. If you find any alternatives, please let us know on your videos. Keep up the great work! Look forward towards your videos weekly! Blessings
I have teenagers. I clean my bathrooms every day. I also throw a load in the washing machine every day. Putting things away is not so overwhelming that way
Thank you so much for sharing these ideas I have a seven year old boy and he makes messes every where he goes so it's very hard to totally keep our house clean, since our house is very small, also with a dog that gets hair everywhere. I have thought of the idea of getting both my boys who are 13 and 7 to get a bin and put their toys in maybe just before supper then their evenings are more freeing to do a family time, would this be a great idea or do you have any other suggestions? Also with tons of dog hairs how do you keep you're clothes and furniture and other things from getting dog hairs everywhere? I am not allowing her into my closet, or around my bedside either so I have a space that is hair free pretty good. I have a push broom and it is easy to clean up dog hairs every night, especially on my dark blue rug. We shall see how it goes and again thank you for sharing this information it's very helpful, and many blessings!
Hi Heather! The basket idea for cleaning up toys is great! I love that! When your boys are little, just do what you can and know that this season is very short. Before you know it you’ll be sending them off to college and wondering how the time went by so quickly. When your kids are growing up “the days are long and the years are short” for sure! As far as the dog hair - I haven’t found any magical solution. 🙈🤪 I just use our vacuum and lint brush a lot.😂 God bless you and your family! 💛🌼💛
Thanks I appreciate it and so far so good, my oldest is teaching my youngest and that's a great way for him to remember too how to get things done so I am definitely encouraging him in this area like how to clean and things like that. Thanks for you're impute and have a blessed evening!
Hi Carla! Just do what you can in those spare moments- which I know are few and far between. 😄 Now is also a great time to take advantage of this age when “helping” is something your child actually wants to do. Give him/her a small broom or a spray bottle filled with water and a microfiber cloth and show them how to clean the windows or counters and while they are busy you can get a few things done before wiping up after them. 😂 I hope that helps! Enjoy this brief season with your toddler and God bless! 💛🌼💛
Sometimes I wish I was more of a "routine" person. I keep thinks tidy and I'm pretty ruthless about clutter, butI tend to fly by the seat of my pants and only truly clean when it really needs it... usually when someone is coming over. Ha!
