Chinese braised beef brisket with radish recipe
Beef brisket 600g
Radish 1 medium (roll cut)
Bay leaves 2-3
Star anise 2
Ginger 3-5
Rock sugar thumb size
Sauce:
Chu hou/char siu 1 tbsp
Oyster sauce 1 tbsp
Soy sauce 1.5 tbsp
Wine (optional)
1) blanch the beef
2) fry ginger and the sauce with little oil for a few minutes. Add in the beef, fry a minute.
3) add water to just cover the ingredients. Add sugar, star anise and bay leaves
4) simmer for 60-90 mins
5) add in the radish and simmer until desirable tenderness
