WORD TO WORD MEANING (Translation from Sanskrit to English): "Om Japaakusuma Sankaasham Kaashyapeyam Mahaadhyuthim Thamorim Sarvapaapaghnam Pranathosmi Dhivaakaram" Japaakusuma = the hibiscus flower Sankaasham = resembling Kaashyapeyam = son of sage Kashyap Mahaadhyuthim = one with immense brightness/brilliance Thamorim = enemy of darkness (lethargy, inertia, sadness etc) Sarvapaapaghnam = destroyer of all sins Pranathosmi = I bow Dhivaakaram = another Vedic name of Sun (maker of day / giver of daylight) So put together, here is my approximate translation: OM, I humbly bow and salute Him whose color resembles the pollen grains of the hibiscus flower, the brilliantly shining son of Sage Kashyap, who is the destroyer of all evil darkness, ignorance and sins, Sun the life and daylight giver. ============================================= “To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter … to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird’s nest or a wildflower in spring-these are some of the rewards of the simple life."

I listen to Om Japa Kusuma almost every morning since about a month ago. Today at an MRI appt. They offered to let me listen to music on their internet. I asked for only "Mahakatha." Out of the thousands of chants that could pop up came Om Japa Kusuma sung by the excellent Preetiji. I think that's amazing!
