Thank you! It was an old horse barn that I added a deck to last year for the wood. I appreciate the comment!

I have mentioned this before, but wow, your property looks beautiful in the winter!!! Hehehehehe…. I wish burning wood could clean the house!!! 😉 That cart sure does come in handy. Hauling firewood is definitely one of the chores I would use it for! That cart holds A LOT of firewood. I can’t believe you can go through all that wood in one day. Now that I think about it, it is pretty cold. I am guessing you go through less than that when it is not near 0 outside. It looks like you have enough wood in storage to last the entire season. Are you on track for a normal year of usage OR because it is abnormally cold, you will need to get more? Great tip re: the red fir logs scattered in the wood pile. Nice to know they can ignite quickly and throw off a lot of heat. Fusing around getting the house warm in the morning would be something I would like to avoid. Adding a few logs optimized for the morning fire makes a lot of sense. The floor you added to your firewood shed looks like it is paying dividends. I bet it helps the wood dry faster in the summer and keeps it off the damp / frozen ground. I believe you added insulated walls too. I think you did a short showing the work you did. Did you build that shed from scratch or did you just improve an existing structure? Hopefully I will have a firewood shed on my property, but if not, looking forward to building mine. Complete with a deck, pizza oven, and hot tub. Maybe add an overhead door and space for a log splitter. Hehehehe, not really, but I can dream! That wide angle shot at the ~2-minute mark of the firewood shed with the snow on the ground and snow covered pines looks amazing!!! Nice log splitter! Convenient and useful tool for sure. I will need to pick one of those up, once I get out there. I am tempted to buy things like this now, but I don’t really have the room for them, and additional items will only take longer to pack and take up more room when we move. But boy oh boy I have the itch to make some purchases now for sure! Do you have a furnace or do you just have the wood stove? I have been looking at wood stoves and wood cook stoves since your video on the carport. I created a list of things I wanted to do for winter preparedness and got slightly side tracked with wood stoves. I would like to have a second source of heat (assuming I have a furnace in the new place) and a second source for cooking meals. I looked at a few models for cooking. The Pioneer Princess seems to be a popular option for some, but it is definitely a bit spendy!!! Apparently, I have impeccable taste!!! I would love to see more daily chore videos and the tools you use to accomplish them!!! BTW: Looks like your new snow blower did a heck of a job with your drive way and all the paths to your out buildings. That is a tool that is worth its weight in gold, when you get that much snow. I could not imagine how hard it would be to get around your property without a well-groomed path!!! Be safe and stay well!!!

Thanks Tom! I'm not going to lie, I getting pretty itchy for Spring to arrive. I have so many projects I want to work on. This is my lazy time of the year, and I know come Summer I'll be wishing for January to be back 😂 Haha yeah I wish the burning wood could clean the house too! The cart definitely has come in handy! I seem to use it for a lot of things all year 'round. Last year I was hauling wood with the Kubota to the house, and this is much much easier and less tedious. On these cold winter days I go through probably double the amount of wood than if it were say 30 degrees out. Though we are going through a similar cold snap, this video was actually filmed right after I filmed the snow rake video! So I think it was back in late December.. I've been slacking 😬 I have A LOT less wood now, and I'm wondering if I'm going to make it through the year with what I have on hand. I have some reserve western larch that 'was' under the carport but it's pretty wet now.. but I may start bringing that up to the house so I can split it and let it dry indoors by wood stove. I was hoping to have that wood around for next season! I also have my eye on a medium sized small dead pine tree that I may cut down and burn. The pine would be a lot better for the end of the season since it's a lower quality burning wood.. And then I can save my premium stuff for next year. Yeah I like to strategically stack smaller pieces in the shed.. whether it's for starting fires or 're-starting' fires after a long overnight burn they are useful in the moment. I've been letting my fires burn out at night lately due to potentially not having enough. The floor in the woodshed has held up nicely!! I'm very very glad that I did that. The days of unloading the wood shed just to re-stack it are ideally behind me. Now I can hopefully get wood in there sooner as well. Oddly enough the walls already had insulation in them, but rodents have gotten to it and it's not in the best shape. I'd love to figure out a way to get better airflow in there however. I've considered removing the back wall to add horizontal slats on it or something like that. The shed was there when we moved in. It was an old horse barn with lots of hay and old droppings. I just added the floor over all of that so I wouldn't have to remove it all :) Wow that sounds like quite the 'dream' wood shed! Yeah that maul is a pretty basic one! But they don't need to be fancy. I think that's a six pound maul and then I have a 12 pound one that is for bigger splits. Swinging that one feels like I'm working in slow motion. We have a furnace in the house as well. We try not to use it as much, but we do. That things takes $$$ right out of our pockets so I definitely prefer the wood heat. Plus we have vaulted ceilings.. So we lose A LOT of heat to them. The furnace isn't as efficient at heating as the stove. A cook stove would be awesome!! I don't know much about those, but what a way to really save electricity! I'll have to look up the one you mentioned. I will definitely try to get some more daily chore videos up! I'm gunning for 1,000 subs on this channel and have a fire lit under the arse to do so :) The snowblower has been an awesome awesome tool for snow removal! Thanks for the comment and for the support!! Hope you guys are well. Danny

@@theidahopanhandlers Oh, interesting to know! So, the extreme temps really cause you to burn through your firewood supply, pun intended!!! 😊 Sorry to hear your supply is low, but completely understandable. Oh wow, if you have the time and opportunity, it would be awesome to watch you take down that dead pine!!! Your last video when you cut down the tree in the Fall is my new favorite Danny S. video! If you could walk the noobies through your process for felling (not sure that is the correct word) a tree, that would be super awesome!!! Glad to hear the floor is working out well!!! Air flow is key for sure!!! Please pass on any tips you come up with. Ahhh, glad to hear you have a furnace as a backup. It must be so rewarding to be able to process a dead tree and heat your home with that!!! It takes time and hard work, but you pay for that with sweat and not your bank account 😊. I am just getting started with my research on wood cook stoves. There are a few brands I ran across in addition to the Pioneer Princess. I found a web site called antiquestoves.us and I ran across the Kitchen Queen. There are some made in Europe that are also highly rated. They can heat your home, hot water, and cook your food. It might be tough to run that stove in the summer. I think I would need a conventional stove with an oven, but what a nice backup / winter option. Which means I will need a big kitchen! Just another thing I need to add to the list. Let me know if you have perfected growing a money tree yet!!! I will be in desperate need of one once I get out there!!! We learn so much from your channel, you have no idea!!! Looking forward to more of your videos!!! Be well and stay safe!!!

Yeah it's definitely a nice asset here at the house. The power goes out here enough to justify it over heating with electric or pellet. Thanks for watching, Jerry!
